In reply to: [Email Users] S2Member roles conflict? Thanks for the reply, Mike.
All users currently allow both Notifications and Mass Email.
I’ve just discovered that by unchecking “Filter Users with no role from Recipient List. “, all users are now potential recipients. In my case with S2Member, standard WP roles now appear as S2Member role names.
It would appear the plugin isn’t seeing S2Member roles but, in my case, all is good because I’m really just looking for a way to email all users.
Thank you for helping me to think it through. ??

In reply to: [bbPress auto subscribe for new topics and replies] Will this pluginI’m looking for a variation of this too.
Looking for a way to subscribe all users to an “Important Announcements” bbpress forum so they get alerted by email.

In reply to: Fatal error: Allowed memory size of ….spoke to GoDaddy Support. Very efficient. They’ve increased my default memory from 64M to 256M. I’ll report back here if the problem still exists but all should be good now ??

In reply to: Fatal error: Allowed memory size of ….@tara .. thanks. I’ll try that.
@sam-rohn .. thank you for the comments. Yes, it would be great if someone from S1 would chime in.
But for now, I’m going to test user level restricting a forum to see how it behaves for me.
Also, thanks for the tip on the user switching plugin! That will help lots.
S.
@kts915 .. thanks!
Thank you KTS915. That makes sense but it does sound tricky.
Maybe I could put a level 1 and level 2 PayPal button (same membership fee) on the Member Options page and hope the user chooses the right one? hehe. And then just restrict that forum to the corresponding level?

In reply to: [WP-Members Membership Plugin] Spammers Regularly Becoming MembersThanks for your insight.
In Settings -> General, Membership ‘anyone can register” is turned off. Is this what you’re referring to?
No .. I don’t believe it’s humans. I’m only speculating.
By “gibberish” email addresses, I meant addresses that appear to be just a bunch of random characters, such as [email protected]. I’m not suggesting the email addresses aren’t valid. It’s just that they appear to be random characters while most people use something that appears as though it might be meaningful to them.
WP_Members settings are all the default and when I test, everything appears to be working fine. The only way I can create a membership is to follow the expected steps.
Regarding moderating memberships, I understand. Just not looking to moderate.
I’ll try using Really Simple CAPTCHA instead, but strangely, I haven’t had a questionable new membership since the day after I started this thread.
Thank you again for your help with this.
