@PhillEsq,
I’m afraid I can’t confirm or deny the country blocking, as I haven’t upgraded to the paid version. But the ‘on by default’ is not correct.
I also read about the homepage only caching and did some testing.
I observed an impressive performance improvement of a (non-homepage) gallery page on my test site.
However, as it’s early days, I’m inclined to agree with your verdict.
@PhillEsq,
I have been using the falcon engine, and I can tell you it’s ‘Disabled’ by default. When you enable it, you will be prompted to download a backup copy of the .htaccess file before it actually enables.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: cant get into my adminNo worries woody. I was worried that you might’ve been put off. I’m really pleased that you persevered and got your issue resolved. It is important now to regularly back up your and keep it up to date. It is also important to proactively secure your site and you check with your designer that this has been done to protect your it from being hacked.
All the best,
Steve

In reply to: Sidebar widgets showing up on bottom on some pagesIn comparison to the other pages the div holding the main content is missing a float left and a width to make room for the side bar to float up. Plus the container div holding them both has a width of 620px, compared to the 920px of the other pages so it’s too narrow to allow the sidebar and the main content to sit side by side.

In reply to: cant get into my admin@kmessinger, woody has explained that he is unfamiliar with ftp and host account access.
Woody, I’ve just checked 123’s site, if you have their WordPress website hosting it states that it features backup and restore. Did you ask them to restore a backup of your site?

In reply to: cant get into my adminNot at all I completely understand. You could try to do it, but the thing is if you did some wrong you might break you site and you have no back up! To access the wordpress folders that make up your site and for example carry out esmi’s instructions you need to access a different admin panel via the hosting information given to you by 123 when you joined. I reckon said they couldn’t help because they expect you to do it yourself.
You should have a login for your website, a login for your hosting account, and one for here. It’s possible to use the same login details for all of them but it is not wise to put all your eggs in one basket so to speak.

In reply to: cant get into my adminOK No Worries, you did say you were a bit of a technophobe. Well I think your best course of action, as your wordpress username and password is not being accepted, is to get someone who knows what they are doing to access the backend of your site to initially save a copy of the site and then restore access. I would be happy to do it for you, but I would need to know your hosting details to access your account on 123, therefore you may prefer to ask a friend or friend of your family?
I’m assuming here that you have already made sure that you entered the correct username and password(not your 123 account one) when you tried to log back in? I only ask because you said the admin page is open all the time, which suggests you rarely log in or out?
