Installed LocalWP and ran its recommended install settings. My local server setup by LocalWP, after updating to 5.9.2 and activating the Theme 2022… NO LOGO BLOCK! Again, it gives the same error message “This block has encountered an error and can not be previewed.”
Add an image block: “This block has encountered an error and can not be previewed.”
Add a file block: “This block has encountered an error and can not be previewed.”
That’s 3 different hosts, three V. 5.9.2_2022 theme installs, No ability to use media blocks.
Unless I hear from YOU,
Uncle Sam meme image here: Sorry “This block has encountered an error and can not be previewed."
my guess: WP is broken.Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: [Twenty Twenty-Two] Theme Editor Broke: White ScreenAnother day. The site editor displayed until I left it to go to the manage reusable blocks screen. After I tried to edit it, the site editor did not come up again. White screen is all it shows again. I’ll try again tomorrow I guess, to see if the page editor comes up.
Update: I decided to test things on a fresh install and a different webhost.
…same problem.
It is not only the logo block. ALL blocks requiring a media file connection say
“This block has encountered an error and cannot be previewed.”That error appears for Image blocks; it appears, for Video blocks, for File blocks, Gallery, Audio, Cover, and the Media & Text block (but only for the media half of that block).
Is it only me that can’t get any media file block to work? I have tried it on two different hosts. This install was done using Softalicious.
Ideas?
Anybody getting this problem too, or you want to say “It’s only you.”?

In reply to: [Twenty Twenty-Two] Theme Editor Broke: White ScreenStrange Update: Today, I tried again to go to the site editor. First thing, IT LOADS! One time. I saw the sight editor again with my own eyes. Then, I clicked to try and edit the page, make new page, make new post, but none of those worked. So I tried site editor a second time… nothing but white space, it loaded once, and then it was “cloud cover” all day.
It’s almost like…. the server got stuck in processing loop.

In reply to: Can’t Reactivate Old Site (New Domain)I’m thinking you were right. The support people figured out that it should not be in the sub-directory. I don’t know how the database thought it wasn’t in a sub-directory (when the backed up files were from a sub-directory) but — “Hey! It works now!”.
You were right. It would not work in the sub-directory.

In reply to: Can’t Reactivate Old Site (New Domain)Update:
The database wp_options table ‘siteurl’ and ‘home’ both show the root domain not /site/ install directory. Is that the problem?
How can I edit it in light of the message above “does not contain a unique column. Grid edit, checkbox, Edit, Copy and Delete features are not available.”?

In reply to: Broken Website Endless RedirectI gave up and deleted site. But I’ve got other backups to try so I may be back. All of these old files and MySQL exports have to be worth something. The real problem is I don’t own the old domains and have no way to telling the database what the new domain should be.
When I upload the old MyQSL backups to the new database it encounters an error and none of the table entry’s can be edited.

In reply to: MySQL Import Errors on New Host & New DomainI decided to try the next step anyway and apparently I can’t even do that.
I’m supposed to change the siteurl and home in wp_options. …problem is…
Current selection does not contain a unique column. Grid edit, checkbox, Edit, Copy and Delete features are not available.
Stymied!
Really? Because I’ve used FTP with many different hosts from GoDaddy to BlueHost and HostGator. All big names, and the FTP speed was not noticeably any different between them. All hosts and servers have the sames speed from a user experience perspective (at least for me, over the years). I’m trying to inquire as to the technological difference. Is the www.remarpro.com-to-ExampleSite.com connection also an FTP file transfer or is it some other technology?
I’m not complaining about one FTP being slow. I’m complaining about all FTP being slow compared to site-to-site transfers.
…and wondering why there seems to be a difference.
Does that make better sense now?

In reply to: [OceanWP] How to Set Blog Posts Page?Okay, I seem to have found the setting.
For any future seekers:
In the customizer under “Homepage Settings”,
you have to actually select the “A static page” option to even see that there are more hidden options:“Homepage”, and
“Postes page”.…both of which can be set.

I enabled low resource scanning, and changed the max time to 20.
While it was scanning the external directory clicking to other admin pages was okay. It seemed to freeze and new lines were not loading to the log. Then I could not access any admin pages except strangely “scan options” but not “scan”. as it was all redirecting to install.php.
After the system registered that the scan had failed the intall.php redirect disappeared, and I can see all admin pages and the log again.

I went to check in a different browser and the site was working fine, but I don’t know that it was the cache because when I went back to my primary browser that too was working fine and the install-redirect problem had vanished in that browser as well.
I’m assuming it only happens during active scanning, and seemingly only when the scan seems frozen.
The results of the scan are displaying as “failed”.
I already have another thread for that where I’ll post the last 20 lines of the scan as you requested there.

I spoke too soon.
While doing an external directory scan; I clicked the “View full log” button, and it directed me to wp-admin/install.php
So it didn’t do it on the normal scan earlier, but it did do it on an external files scan.
I’ve just refreshed the page because it seemed to be not loading new lines to the log, and the scan page is also redirecting to install.php.
So now, I can’t even see the scan page (perhaps because the scan is still happening?).
…though I can see the /wp-admin/admin.php?page=WordfenceScan&subpage=scan_options
I can not see wp-admin/edit.php?post_type=page, so the whole admin of WP is redirecting to install.
Why can I see the “scan options” page, but not “all pages” page or “scan” page?

It must have been something like that. It’s working fine today. I haven’t checked in a different browser, but I did manually update the core and all plugins since the first scan. Not sure if that had anything to do with it; either way, it’s working now and I can’t reproduce the issue.
Problem solved ??
