In reply to: [BruteProtect] Constant "site down/slow" alerts but site is upHello,
Because there are some circumstances where people are getting false downtime alerts, we added a feature to turn that off in the site’s control panel. I believe you’re getting these alerts because BruteProtect looks for a piece of code that gets added to the theme’s footer. With the plugin in active, it can’t see that code. Once the plugin is off, you shouldn’t receive the downtime emails anymore. Make sense?Hope this helps!

In reply to: [BruteProtect] Log of Blocked AttacksHello,
We do not offer a record of actual attacks, only the count. Some hosting companies will show you a record of login attempts (InMotion Hosting comes to mind). Please note that even if there’s a record of an attack, if you have BruteProtect installed, you’d still see the attempt. Thanks!

In reply to: [BruteProtect] My BruteProtect Dashboard not availableHello,
We apologize for your frustrations. Please understand that each site and hosting company can present a unique case and we do try to track down the issues when they arise. We’ve added a debug tool the latest version and you’re able to send that data via the plugin. Please update to the latest version and send us that info when you can as It helps us to find commonalities with the few sites that do have issues (we’re about to hit 170,000 protected sites!).Please note that issues with My BruteProtect do not impact botnet protection of your site(s).
Thanks for your help!

In reply to: [BruteProtect] Increase in Site Down (False) Email Notifications After UpdateRocco can take a deeper look this weekend. Please understand that issues can take time to resolve, but we do make every effort we can to track them down.
By chance, are the sites that are having issues using any form of caching? How about the sites that aren’t having the issue?

In reply to: [BruteProtect] Constant reports that my site is down – but it is upIt could have been the location of the string in the theme that we use in the footer to determine if a site is up or down.

In reply to: [BruteProtect] How can i do if i want to remove an IP blocked?Hello,
There’s a tab to whitelist your IP address in the BruteProtect settings. Does this address your questions? Let me know if you have any others.
Thanks!

In reply to: [BruteProtect] Getting False "Down" messageHi there,
On the messages we send, please note the following info:
If the site looks OK in the screenshot, then the string we use to determine if a site is up was missing from the footer of your website.
<p>A few common causes:</p>- Site upgrades are in progess (if this is the case, your site will be back up within a few minutes)
- Poor site performance on your webserver
- You may have deactivated or removed the BruteProtect plugin
- Your WordPress Theme never makes a call to wp_footer()
We’re also working on a solution for disabling or controlling messages, but I don’t have a solid date for this yet.
Thanks!
