Hello, I’m having the same problem, and I would like to know why the random characters are being added to the upload file name. They are appearing in both the email notification attachment and in the media library file name. I am capable of adding the snippet (I assume to functions.php in my child theme?) but I would like to know the reason for the added characters being added.

I was able to circumvent this problem without any code by creating the standard gift card product and then leaving that alone, then building a new page with the divi builder and adding the Woo Add to Cart module for the gift card. It is functioning correctly, in a page over which I have complete control.

Thanks, it’s weird (and frustrating). Is there not a simple hook or API call for the description field in a product variation? that could be stuck into the Confirmed email template? It doesn’t even need to be within the order table, it could be at the top under the header.

Hello, I’d like to ask a few question about using a YouTube video as the header video in twentyseventeen:

– how do I force it to auto play? I know it will not display on mobile but I’m referring to desktop. right now, it shows the YouTube play button and I must click that to show the video.

– all of the YouTube controls (and related videos) are shown in the interface. all I want to see is the video itself. how do I do this?

the only solution seems to be to change the Divi setting for the number of posts displayed in an archive page. I set it to 50, the same as the number in TEC, and it seems to be running fine now. I’ll update if it fails again.

the conflict seems to be with Divi. I changed to the 2019 theme and it’s working as expected. will do more research but it’s unfortunate that this isn’t working with one of the most popular themes.

So if you want to use the Theme Customizer on a theme-switcha-enabled theme, you can experiment and preview all you want, but DO NOT click the “Save & Publish” button while in the Theme Customizer. If you do, your theme-switcha-enabled theme will be activated as the default (live) theme, and will be visible to all site visitors.

It’s important to understand this in order to prevent accidental activation of the theme you are working on privately. Best advice is to stay away from the Theme Customizer for switched themes unless you understand the implications. Again, it’s fine to preview options via the Theme Customizer, but do not click “Save & Publish” unless you want the theme to go live for all visitors.

3) Feel free to report your findings, so other users may find it useful.

4) It sounds like you are working mostly with the Customizer. Which is fine, but Theme Switcha is not really needed when just using the Customizer. I mean, that’s what the customizer is for: modifying your theme and previewing before going live. In such case, Theme Switcha may be redundant.

But, if I change to the new theme without using Switcha, then that theme will go live to the front end. Ideally, I need to use Switcha to see the new theme but only when logged in as an admin, then make changes using the customizer and other areas (pages, etc) and then ask the client to test, while keeping the old theme live, and then go live with the new theme once it’s been approved.

5) The active theme has control over the Admin Area. Most themes don’t change anything in the Admin Area, but they could if they were programmed to do so. The setting, “apply switched theme to admin area” means that the switched theme (instead of the default/active theme) will be applied to the Admin Area as well as the front-end.
