Deleted the existing database and installed fresh one – imported an xml of the site via phpMyAdmin – just had to create the correct folders in Uploads and pop the right images in the right folders… Will fine tune the site today.
Ultimately a quicker solution!
The response from JustHost:
Thank you for contacting support.
I have installed a fresh install and it works. There are no links working but as stated this is a problem with the code and not something we can support.Nothing sorted… In the end it was easier to rebuild the site than figure this out, but thanks so much to Esmi for trying to help!
Thanks Esmi: I’ll email Support at JustHost and will pop their response (and solution) into this thread – there’s every chance I’m not the only person dealing with such a problem…
Thanks so much for leading me through this…
I followed instructions: reset permalinks to default setting, and deleted the .htaccess file in the strickdesignkurse.de root folder (was that the right one?)… Did a Refresh on the website and now have a little window saying: The server strickdesignkurse.de:80 requires a username and password. The server says: CONTENT.
Hope you were expecting that to happen? Which Username and password is it expecting?
Fingers-crossed you’re still available Esmi?
Have re-uploaded all WordPress files (fresh download), except the wp-contents folder – overwriting the existing files via my FTP program… Now what?
When viewing: strickdesignkurse.de/wp-content/themes/twentyeleven/style.css in File Manager, I note that the permissions are set to 644 by default, as are most of the other files – is this correct?
Esmi:
Thanks so much for helping – but it’s still not right; having reset the plugins folder by inserting ‘a:0:{}’ into the Option Value via phpMyAdmin – strickdesignkurse.de continues to look much they way it did… Any other thoughts?Esmi:
I’ve re-uploaded a fresh TwentyEleven, and re-named magazine-basic to magazine-basic-old… Dashboard > Appearance > Themes > Manage Themes still shows as previously mentioned (?) – I expected Magazine-Basic to appear broken having been renamed…keesiemeijer:
Settings > General unchanged i.e. https://strickdesignkurse.de
style.css is (according to my FTP) at wp-content/themes/magazine-basic/style.cssThis is baffling!
Although when it was first built it was moved from a test position?
No – it’s been happily sitting in the same spot for several months…

Looks like your site is back to its formatted self – how did you resolve this?Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: My Theme and Formatting are not displaying?Similar problem with my site – happened to check it last night and noticed that the theme formatting and images have disappeared (the site’s text is showing, but without any of the style sheet formatting)…
In Dashboard > Appearance > Themes > Manage Themes the small preview images for the installed theme (Magazine-Basic) and the Twenty Eleven theme are missing (grey box/broken image icon). Similarly, the Magazine-Basic thumbnail image in Dashboard > WordPress Updates has a broken image icon.
I have the latest version of WordPress, and have tried re-installing. I have checked permissions (755). I’ve restarted. I’m flummuxed, especially because two other sites – with identical versions of theme and stylesheets are fine and dandy? The site is: strickdesignkurse.de
Any help would be very gratefully received
