The host must have deleted the entire folder. I can see the website again. I am making a complete backup right now. I just see strange .php templates inside the WP theme editor. As I was backing up these files, I also noticed nothing but real gibberish inside my “theme function” template.
I will check on the cleansing of the website. I also agree with your last paragraph. Thank you so much for your help.
IdahoAn,
My client finally wrote back. I sent him the message you gave me, but the response was that his hosting company only disabled the NextGen plugin. The site did come back up. However, this is what I see on certain browsers.
I see an ad for Viagra, which is in Spanish in the firefox browser, but not in chrome or explorer.
Now, in the wordpress editor of the theme, I see three .phps I have never seen before, except the one I previously mentioned. They are
COPYING_old.php
customizer_infoold.php
jquery.cycle.all.min_noversion.phpScott
I understand. I will do this once I get a hold of my client. Thank you very much.
No, but here is the link. https://www.ironcladusa.com I noticed an extra php template inside the WP dashboard. I didn’t attempt to delete it assuming the site might crash. The site is based out of Seattle. I was using a created 2014 theme template. Two Thousand Fourteen/Ironclad. I didn’t create the theme, but my client didn’t like the company he was using and found me on craigslist. A few months ago as he updated WP, all his plugins became deactivated. HE thought his site crashed. It didn’t. I reactivated everything, and I was just working on his homepage overwriting code to suit his design/layout desires, but I never did anything with Nextgen except reactivate it.
Cais? I do have the code to the homepage? Will this help you?
Thank you IdahoAn. I will give this a try. My problem is I am a freelancer and I do not have control into my client’s hosting control panel. But, I will send him the info you gave me and run in through to him on the phone if he need. I appreciate the help very much.
Cais – I will create the topic soon.
I received the same error message today – Jan 7th 2015. I do have the nextgen gallery plugin, but I haven’t even done anything with it in a while. Is it possible this is a hack? I noticed an added “copying.php” in my editor. How can I bring my site back up? I am not sure how to delete the module from the server as the 1st user mentioned.
