Just a quick update I swtched back to the theme above but used Classic editor and is working fine. Maybe that is why the other blogs worked using this as must have installed classic editor.

OK I did set it to 2019 and the post is working. Weird part is I have used this other theme before without issues like this any thoughts??

It does say though it has not been updated in a few years. Any thoughts on why this might be happening regarding videos not showing up in the post when the post is published?

And by the way when I returned to the admin panel the classic editor in fact failed to install so this was not installed at all despite my above post just had no noticed it failed. I think my net might have cut out briefly so might be why

Will try that then update the thread. For the moment I do know there is No plug ins except the default

And I did install since posting the above the classic editor wanted to see if that worked. But that was just right now installed so was not a factor in the above at all.

I’ll switch to default theme just to see.

Just now tried that and same results in the edit post page it displays the embedded video just fine but when I view the actual post page I just get a link and I did clear my cache just in case but same results just a text link not even clickable let alone playable

And my understanding is this should also work with the youtube button as well as embed as that is what the buttons suppose to be for to embed specifically youtube videos

OK thanks yeah I was searching Webcam and had a few but just wasn’t one I liked but using streaming like you suggested found me Hapity and that is working good for what we need it!

No problem and yeah sometimes just lost and need a direction to go in and your response gave me that direction then after watching a video on the same topic it just make it more clearer on how to proceed in the direction as I tend to learn better by watching others do it then I can repeat but reading sometimes leaves me scratching my head HA HA

Just quick update have posted several times now and the links are in fact gone. Divider bars also showing up now between the posts!

I also used a plug in to hide the posts from the main page. the plug is is called

WP Hide Post

It just adds a check box list below the new post box and you just select boxes next to where you wish to hide the post so in this case I just check hide from home page and poof no post on the home page but does show up fine on the categories page and such!

Think I found it poked around in the code in my HTML editor just so the screen was bigger and found a bit that had categories in a span tag removed that and tested and the link was going going to try and post several posts and see how it looks when more then one are there. Also got the divider line inserted!!

Got a little confused so I pulled up a video on this and this guy shared a plug in that helps you create a child theme took about 30 seconds at most to complete the new theme. Editing the new child theme is the next thing i will try and tackle HA HA

Do have one question it says to make a folder now the parent theme is in this folder

So when I make the new folder do I need to make two folders or just one one folder?

Also perhaps I missed it but I did not see what folder it needed to be uploaded to is it uploaded to theme or themes/excellent.1.0.6 or themes/excellent.1.0.6/excellent

Well I did reinstall it and the site seems to be OK again no 404 errors but I will try setting to default which they should be anyways as I have not changed anything there but I will double check anyways!

No I already discussed this in part with one of the heads out here and he said posting the link in the composition box should show a preview and it has done that several times just stopped all of a sudden. And it isn’t a script I have no script of this nature added is a feature he told me when I asked about it a few weeks ago as I noticed some posts just converted and some didn’t
