Step 1: Replace WordPress files #Step 1: Replace WordPress files
Get the latest WordPress zip (or tar.gz) file.
Unpack the zip file that you downloaded.
Deactivate plugins.
Delete the old wp-includes and wp-admin directories on your web host (through your FTP or shell access).
Using FTP or your shell access, upload the new wp-includes and wp-admin directories to your web host, in place of the previously deleted directories.
Upload the individual files from the new wp-content folder to your existing wp-content folder, overwriting existing files. Do NOT delete your existing wp-content folder. Do NOT delete any files or folders in your existing wp-content directory (except for the one being overwritten by new files).
Upload all new loose files from the root directory of the new version to your existing WordPress root directory.Okay, I see in the “more detailed instructions” part what I can do. If you’d read what I typed you’d know that was the link I was dealing with in the last two posts, but I managed to figure it out so that’s good.

In reply to: Need help recovering a site from 2012The tutorial you sent includes steps that require me to log in, so I won’t be able to follow them.
I can’t do that, at least not by following the steps in the link you sent. Namely deactivating my plugins seems to require me to sign in. I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s another way, or if this step is not necessary but… this is why I’m asking for help.

In reply to: Need help recovering a site from 2012I was able to follow those instructions to set a new password. However, when I log in I just recieve errors. I only know the password change worked because it spits out errors only if I type in the correct password.
The tutorial you sent includes steps that require me to log in, so I won’t be able to follow them.
When I go to https://www.musicforhypnotists.com/wp-login.php, I get the following errors:
Warning: "continue" targeting switch is equivalent to "break". Did you mean to use "continue 2"? in /homepages/9/d207592993/htdocs/musicforhypnotists.com/wp-includes/pomo/plural-forms.php on line 210 Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /homepages/9/d207592993/htdocs/musicforhypnotists.com/wp-includes/pomo/plural-forms.php:210) in /homepages/9/d207592993/htdocs/musicforhypnotists.com/wp-login.php on line 421 Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /homepages/9/d207592993/htdocs/musicforhypnotists.com/wp-includes/pomo/plural-forms.php:210) in /homepages/9/d207592993/htdocs/musicforhypnotists.com/wp-login.php on line 434
When I enter the correct email and password, I get the following errors:
Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /homepages/9/d207592993/htdocs/musicforhypnotists.com/wp-includes/pomo/plural-forms.php:210) in /homepages/9/d207592993/htdocs/musicforhypnotists.com/wp-includes/pluggable.php on line 920 Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /homepages/9/d207592993/htdocs/musicforhypnotists.com/wp-includes/pomo/plural-forms.php:210) in /homepages/9/d207592993/htdocs/musicforhypnotists.com/wp-includes/pluggable.php on line 921 Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /homepages/9/d207592993/htdocs/musicforhypnotists.com/wp-includes/pomo/plural-forms.php:210) in /homepages/9/d207592993/htdocs/musicforhypnotists.com/wp-includes/pluggable.php on line 922
Is there a way to fix this without logging in?
