In reply to: [Tumblr Crosspostr] Tumblr to WordPress?Hi,
I had this feature enabled and then forgot about it. In the meantime, my existing Tumblr posts, which had already been ported to my WP site, would periodically re-post over and over to WP creating strings of duplicate posts over time until I noticed and deleted them. I couldn’t figure it out until I saw this post. I’ve disabled it and have my fingers crossed that it will solve the problem, but I’d say this is a major bug in the experimental feature.Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [Social] Cannot Link AccountsWe are getting the “database error” too. I was wondering if it had to do with the fact that Facebook changed the Page interface recently.
This happened to me as well.

In reply to: Plug In Failure!Hi,
I just started to admin a site that is showing the:
The plugin __MACOSX/ has been deactivated due to an error: Plugin file does not exist.
…error, but I cannot find out what is causing it. A previous admin may have had something installed that I am not aware of. It doesn’t seem like there is currently a plug-in associated with this directory. I have completely removed the _MACOSX directory from the plug-ins folder, but the error persists.
It would seem that since Google’s acquisition of Feedburner, the aforementioned plugin is not available. I was going to see if installing it and then disabling it would fix the problem.
Any ideas? Thanks!

In reply to: Tag Cloud UpdatingI also just noticed this. New posts are not adding to the tag cloud in the sidebar. I am currently using WP 2.3.3 but I cannot find the version of the Tag Cloud widget. I assume it is whatever comes with the WP install.

In reply to: Finding and adding login fields to the sidebarOh, I see what you mean about the Meta widget. I wish you had elaborated on that more, I didn’t understand at first. Ok, that seems to be a quick and dirty way to get what I want.
Is there any way to edit what shows up in the Meta widget?

In reply to: Finding and adding login fields to the sidebarOk, so I’m taking your point and I found the option to turn off registering as a requirement to post.
Outside of that, I would still like to move the login link to a more visible location on the page for anyone who would register, and need help figuring out how to do that.
Thanks.

In reply to: Finding and adding login fields to the sidebarWell, I didn’t actually choose to make logins a requirement for posting, that is what I got in the “out of the box” install of WordPress. Most blogs I have seen require some kind of login or verification to post, so I thought it was standard. Doesn’t someone have to register to be notified of a posting update?
What are the alternatives?

In reply to: Adding manual code to sidebar with widgetsWell, yes and no. It did definitely help and was the answer to my question…but the code I pasted in just didn’t work quite the way I wanted it to. I’ll have to post that as a separate question.
It’s one piece of the puzzle though, so I’m a step closer, thanks!

In reply to: Dummies guide to removing www. from domainI believe this is a DNS issue on your site’s server. You have to create a record that points https://<sitename>.com to https://www.<sitename>.com. I have a similar problem on my server, but haven’t figured out how to reconfigure it.
