In reply to: Word Press at FansiteViewed in chrome and it works fine on that browser. If it doesn’t work on firefox then you are in deep trouble as that’s got a whole slice of the market.
– Oh dear god stop the music! I clicked out as soon as that started, it was a gimmick back in the 1990s and no one likes it.
– Too much information on the front page presented in a cluttered style, no one is going to bother reading it.

In reply to: MostMost ReviewSorry that site is simply a mess. Too much information presented in a new catching way. Not even sure where WordPress is fitting into the mix there.
Dude make it less cluttered, it’s pretty much unreadable in it’s current format.

In reply to: Photographers site – New ZealandAndrew,
Spent a bit of time hunting around the rugby sites to see if anyone is doing anything with black and white. Seems it’s a “throw your hands in the air like you just don’t care” thing going down. My Wife, unfort an Aussie, is a web designer and she thinks something could be done with the fern in a sort of burnished metal look but shakes her head over any use of black ??
Have had a chance to check out some other blogs, not my normal thing, and seems black and white is used pretty widely for no apparent reason. Can understand kiwis using it.

In reply to: Weblog EthicsAs mike above has stated you are leaving yourself wide open for court action or at least a letter from a Solicitor. Your impression of someone might not equate to the actual person, or in fact your view of their actions may not be how everyone else perceives them.
Generally if you mention someone by name you either have to seek their approval or make damn sure what you are saying is public record. For example reviewing a movie you can make comment on how the Director did in that movie, but not on something from their private life.
Most people simply wont care, after all what percentage of people even bother with personal blogs, but you have to be careful of that one person who takes real offense to what you have stated in your blog.

In reply to: Photographers site – New ZealandAndrew very professional and the advertising isn’t in your face. Liked your random banner at the top which achieved exactly what you are after, highlighting the photography. Must see if we can get something like that running, which would be cool and will save on arguements over which movie still to use (up coming horror site for home grown Aussie and Kiwi horror outings).
I don’t like the whole black on white thing, but then what to do with a kiwi site besides a tad of silver colouring I guess.

In reply to: Movies Reviews and more!Would have to agree with Chrisber, white on a blackground simply does not lead to people staying for very long on your site … it becomes glaring after about five minutes. Like the background on the front page, that’s dynamic and impactful, but then there’s simply nothing that would make me want to cruise the rest of the site.
New to this whole weblog thing, so maybe I’m missing something in overall design and layout.
