  • I too have backups going crazy, it started about a month ago. I will have to delete the plugin if this keeps happening as I’m losing valuable business emails due to my storage being full. Please help!

I found all the “loose” files in my backup, wp-config included (WHY WE search didn’t find it I have no idea), uploaded them all and bingo! Thanks for all your help and here’s the fully functional site

I’ve been hunting for it, hence using WE search, but to no avail. Will search more thoroughly. I have no list of files in public_html, only the subdirectories I posted above. My back up DOES have separate files, so will plough through them.

I do have the dbase info in my cpanel, I’m quite sure.

    Thanks again

I did edit wp-config when I did my install but it was a few months ago and not being tecchie I find it really hard to remember all the things I’ve had to learn! I have used Windows Explorer search to see if I can find a copy of wp-config on my backup files but there is none, and I can’t find it in the other directories/folders in public_html –

    cpanel
    htpasswods
    installatron
    softaculous
    sqmailattach
    sqmaildata
    trash
    access-logs
    etc
    mail
    public_ftp
    public_html – cgi-bin
    – images
    – wp-admin
    – wp-content
    – wp-includes
    tmp
    www

Can’t find wp-config….sorry if I’m just being stupid. I presume that “database info” is the dbase names I setup in MySQL as per the link you posted, I will be able to do that, once I find wp-config…

Thanks so much – sorry for being really thick, can you tell me where to find the dbase info, what I’m looking for, and where to find wp-config, I presume I’m using ftp for this?

Okay, those warning/error messages have gone now the upload is complete, but I have no content whatsoever. I had a customised Thesis site.

You may well be right – the site crashed when I changed the URLs in Settings…I have no Thesis on my dashboard, and now get this error message when I click on Settings

Warning: require(/home/stephan1/public_html/wp-includes/pomo/mo.php) [function.require]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/stephan1/public_html/wp-settings.php on line 83

Fatal error: require() [function.require]: Failed opening required ‘/home/stephan1/public_html/wp-includes/pomo/mo.php’ (include_path=’.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php’) in /home/stephan1/public_html/wp-settings.php on line 83

I have a fresh installation of WordPress in the root which is clearly what is working. I am just trying moving across wp-content, -admin and -includes, having downloaded then deleted the versions in the root. I have a ton of other files in the wordpress files folder in the backup but nother folders. I have left them for now and not uploaded them. Will just go see what has happened…
