In reply to: Visual differs from published pageI’m having the same problem with spacing – here’s my page link: https://iamme.org/executive-board/
The first two people listed in the table have the correct spacing, all of the people after that have spacing that is too much.
I’m actually coding in HTML because I couldn’t figure out how to do a table in visual. I also coded the font styles because I didn’t like any of the format options available.
I’ve tried using the line break code (br) and paragraph code (p), but alas, the website seems to do whatever it wants!
Thanks for any help/guidance you can provide.

In reply to: error establishing a database connection ?–need helpWoot, it is fixed! My techie husband figured out that the database was not restored (thanks a lot GoDaddy) and he had to manually reconfigure the database file from a back up he found (thank goodness). Sorry to say, I can’t help others because I don’t totally understand what he did. But suffice to say, GoDaddy sucks.

In reply to: error establishing a database connection ?–need helpThat’s not surprising since their domain expired mid August & GoDaddy charged them to restore all their files (their site was still not up) and then GoDaddy was hacked on Sept 10. I think the problem is, after the domain expired, I don’t think GoDaddy did the restore properly. The problem is, I have no idea what information needs to be corrected in the wp-config file. Any ideas?
Thanks,

In reply to: error establishing a database connection ?–need helpThanks for the feedback ClaytonJames. I was finally able to find the files via the GoDaddy FTP File Manager (yeah!), but now I’m at a loss on how to move forward. For the record, the 404.html file is there, I have no idea what they were talking about (but I did get this info thru a third party so maybe she misunderstood).
I’ll go do some more researching on what files are supposed to be there (there’s no “index” or “home” page in the main directory).
As for the link you sent – I get the same error message when I go to that link.

In reply to: error establishing a database connection ?–need helpI’ve been asked to help recover a wordpress site and this is the error message they are getting. It’s hosted by GoDaddy and it went down during GoDaddy’s disaster (although it might not be related to that).
GoDaddy is telling us the reason for the error is that 404.html file is missing.I really don’t have any experience with hosted wordpress sites, I do have a blog on the .com site. I can’t even log into the dashboard part of the website…however, I was able to access old HTML pages buried within the domain site. Any help would be appreciated.
website: https://www.iamme.org
example of accessible pages: https://www.iamme.org/about.htm
(not sure why they kept the old pre-wordpress pages, but at least they’ve proven useful because I can see that the hosting is working).
