Looks like you already have the option to change the header color in you theme. I can see inline css. If doesnt you can open header.php file and search for the id ‘branding’ , there you would change the background color of the header.

Just put it in you style.css and the side would also adjust by itself because its in percentage(22.2%). I dont know which images you want the border on, but I just made a guess.

Creating a child theme is always a good idea but Its just a matter of two backslashes, if the theme gets update she can do it again.

You can remove that from your raindrop theme, go to Appearance>Editor and look for page.php file on the right side of the page and search this bit of code <?php comments_template( ”, true ); ?> . Replace this code with this(you just have to comment it out.)
<?php //comments_template( ”, true ); ?>

and the comment will go away . whenever you want to activate comments again just remove these two backslashes

If you leave the link of your website I can give you the custom CSS, you can put it in your style.css file
