After installing WP Retina 2x with the basic settings I replaced pictures by drag & drop to the thumbail. Now everything looks great on iPad. But on my normal non-retina-pc the high resulution pictures is also loaded and Firefox tells me if I go to the properties of the picture 228px × 228px (scaled to 114px × 114px).
I tryed out on an installation without the plugin what happens when I upload the high resulution picture and scaled it down to the half size by the HTML-Code in the wordpress editor and the same happens as with the plugin. It also looks fine on iPad, but on normal displays it scales down. So I really dont need this plugin and now I upload the pictures twice as big and scale them down with HTML-Code. The plugin only waste code.
