I have checked all my folders and they are all writable. Please can someone help?

Well I have been having a look this afternoon and trying to find a suitable plugin. The one that seems the best is shopp but it is not free. I can customise themes quite well, but I guess I want as much flexibility with both, as I can get.

Just to make the problem clear, the links in the sidebar, which are at present Bubblecast place-holding images, just take you to the posting where the video is. It should in fact, show the video in the sidebar.

Please could someone help me with this. I have posted on the forum for the plugin and have had no response.

The link is the site which threw up the errors. And the fixes seemed to suggest that the errors are in parts of my site to which I am not able to access?

However, i will try deactivating the pugins and see what happens. I am not too worried about the errors, but I like to try and learn as much as I can!

Ah, a very kind friend had a look at it for me. It appears that I had one of my permissions set wrong. I am not sure which, but it is amazing how it just sorted it.

A thought, and I do not know if this is relevant as I am not very technically minded. The were two htaccess files on my sever. One was before the wp root folder, in other words in the ss-designs.co.uk/public_html folder I deleted that, and then realised that it was the one in the wp root folder that I should have deleted. But as my portfolio is fine and most other thins in wp other than the theme is fine, I did not think it relevant.

The problem all started with the htaccess file.

I do not appear to have one now. I have my ftp client set to show hidden files but it is not there.

The one I deleted yesterday had

“# BEGIN WordPress

# END WordPress”

I hate to tell you, but I have just done what you said, and nothing has changed. My themes page looks just the same other than it only has the two classic themes in it? Still no images for the themes. I have the permissions set to 755.

I was not too sure what you meant by auto mode?

I am now to wordpress, so want to double check before I do anything.
Via FTP I delete the whole folder named themes. i download locally a new version of wp and upload a new themes folder?
Will my backed up version (customised) of my theme then work once reinstalled?

Oh dear! No joy!

I downloaded all of my root folder as a backup. I have upgraded to 2.9. I have deactivated all plugins and am using WordPress Classic 1.5 by Dave Shea

I am still having the same problem. I have noticed that my themes panel is not working correctly. It is not showing any images. in other words there are no preview images of the themes. i took a screen shot, which can be seen here

Can anyone suggest anything. I would really appreciate it.

I am going to try and upgrade, use a basic theme, and take it from there. I will report back
