In the Image Metadata Cruncher plugin, the “Add New Field” button under custom meta fields also doesn’t work, but that one reloads the page when I click it, whereas these do nothing.

Could it be a related problem? Does that help narrow it down?

That worked!! I assumed the query part was necessary to actually filter the posts based on the search term, but using a regular unqueried loop is working like a charm.

That’s the line that defines $the_query, which is what the Loop is using, so deleting that line results in a fatal error.

Is there another way to encode the search function that doesn’t use that?
