I’m running Salient 8 theme, with Contact Form 7 and Hummingbird from WPMUDEV. After bouncing around a number of forums I got this from WPMUDEV support.

Hi there,
Hope you are doing well today. Sorry to hear that you are having some trouble. I have checked the issue and found that you you have lots of scripts which is sensitive to minification. Most of them get broken while minification is enabled. As you have number of scripts from your theme and plugins, it’s difficult to track down the sensitive scripts. If you want to use minification then enable that and disable all minify and combine option from all CSS and JS. Then enable one by one to make sure your site is not breaking. That could be the safest way to use minification without breaking any script.
