You can hide anything by display:none to css or remove css by creating a new child theme. Also, under “Reading” option, you can select “Front Page”.

You may have different version of jquery that breaks your slider. Make sure to check source and find how many jquery files embeded with versions. Then you can remove jquery file which is’nt associated with your slider.

Create any number of menus, just call them properly on your header.

You said “but the logo seems magnified”. I cannot see a logo on your website, thought you are calling header image as logo. People sometimes call so. You can crop your header image and merge a new LOGo within it or remove site title and sub title and replace with your own logo in header.php and css placement.

Even if its public, let your user’s select 2 categories, “news-with image” “news without image”. Post published with ” news with image” will be your featured front page slide. Others get published ” news without image. Anyway, that makes me feel messy.

You are right, you need to grep all “post with image” and show in featured. Sorry, I have not tried that before. Some geek here can help you. ??

What theme you are using? Do you wish to remove “Page Title”? or Site Title and Title tag? Your website? CSS link?

Please make sure that you have 755 or 750 as folder permissions and 644 as file permissions for all the WordPress files. Also, when you un-zip plugin and upload folder, the linux sometime changes the permissions for other files too. So, either automatically install plugin from “Add New” option in Dashboard or upload plugin folder and change permissions and then login to wp-admin.

Create a new category called “featured news” or “front page” when publishing a post with image, make sure you check for “”featured news” or “front page” category. Also, select “featured news” or “front page” as your main page slide shows category.

Example: If you wish to publish a news without image, then publish it just to “news” category and if you have a featured image, publish it to news ass well as “featured category”. I hope you understand ??

Replace the image or change the css
display:none; and try again. No need to have child theme to achive this simple thing. WordPress not going to upgrade your thirdparty theme automatically.
