Hi, @asexclusiv!
Thanks for reaching out and we’re sorry for the trouble!
Please kindly know, that such an error usually occurs when your server is blocking the SMTP connection or there are some other hosting-related issues.
Since you’ve already reached out to your hosting provider, please, perform tests to ensure where is an issue: is it server-related or SMTP credentials are incorrect?
You can try a third-party SMTP mailer such as SMTP2Go to see if you can get connected. If you can’t, the problem is likely the server. If you can, please, recheck your SMTP credentials once more.
I hope this helps! Please, let us know if you have any other questions.
Hi, @totalgroup!
Thanks for reaching out!
Please kindly know, that you can use only the first option since the second one doesn’t allow sending emails outside your organization. Please, take a look where it’s mentioned in the How to set up a multifunction device or application to send email using Microsoft 365 or Office 365 article: https://a.supportally.com/i/cqNcrX.
Regarding the issue with the first option, please make sure, that you are using “STARTTLS” option (https://a.supportally.com/i/Rup9Ts) which you can find under Settings -> Easy WP SMTP -> SMTP Settings tab -> Type of Encryption.
I hope this helps! If you have any questions, please, let us know.
Hi, @echoalpha!
Thanks for reaching out!
Please kindly know, that support for using Google less secure apps was discontinued on May 30, 2022 for some accounts. Since you are currently using this feature, consider switching to an app password to prevent any disruption in email delivery.
Generating an app password in Gmail
Before you can generate an app password in Gmail, you’ll need to turn on Google’s 2-Step Verification.
1. To create an app password in Gmail, log in to your Gmail or Google Workspace account.
2. Then, go to App passwords in your security settings. On this page, click on the Select app dropdown.
3. Next, select the Other (Custom name) option from the dropdown menu.
4. Then, enter Easy WP SMTP in the field provided and click the blue GENERATE button.
This will generate an app password that you can use for your Easy WP SMTP setup.
I hope this helps!
Hi, @instatech574!
Thanks for reaching out and we’re sorry for the trouble!
Please kindly know, that the Easy WP SMTP is responsible for sending emails from your website. Our plugin routes all emails to your configured SMTP server, and the SMTP server is responsible for the email receiving.
But such an issue (when emails are going to the “spam” folder) could occur if the needed DNS records (SPF and DKIM) are not set up or are set up incorrectly, or your sender domain is blacklisted.
If you are using a domain-based From Email, you will need to configure the SPF and DKIM values for the sender domain. Please see Microsoft’s SPF documentation and DKIM documentation for further information.
Or you can reach out to your hosting provider to check your email deliverability score and mentioned above points for you.
I hope this helps!
Hi, @rambo3000!
Thanks for reaching out!
You can enable the “STARTTLS” option to use TLS. Please, take a look: https://a.supportally.com/i/Rup9Ts.
You can find this option under Settings -> Easy WP SMTP -> SMTP Settings tab -> Type of Encryption.
I hope this helps, if you have any questions, feel free to let us know.
Hi, @bwstandard!
Thanks for reaching out to us and we’re sorry to hear that you’re having an issue on the Element Manufacturing Partners website.
It’s possible that such an issue occurs because of the plugin conflict.
Here are the steps you can perform to test for a plugin conflict:
1. Take a backup of your site.
2. Deactivate all other plugins.
Go to the Plugins page. There, you’ll need to select all your plugins except Easy WP SMTP. Then open the Bulk Actions dropdown at the top of the page and choose Deactivate -> Apply.3. Reactivate plugins and monitor the issue.
Once you’ve deactivated all your plugins except for Easy WP SMTP, you’ll need to check if the problem persists. If you still see the issue, you’ll know there wasn’t a plugin conflict. If the issue is fixed, however, the next step is to determine which specific plugin was triggering it. To do so, you’ll need to reactivate each plugin one by one.
Each time you activate another plugin, check on the issue again. When the issue reappears, you’ll know the most recently activated plugin is the cause of the conflict.
Please, let us know how it goes.
Thank you!
Hi, @coreytrave.
Thanks for reaching out.
Please kindly know, that if other emails (new orders, password reset) are sent, it means that the Easy WP SMTP plugin is configured properly since it’s just responsible for emails sending from your website, but not triggers the sending process.
Seems, that WooCommerse doesn’t trigger the sending of mentioned by you email types.
Please, make sure that all needed email notifications are enabled in the WooCommerce -> Settings -> Emails tab (please, take a look: https://a.supportally.com/i/nMVplC).
Also, you can install the WP Mail Logging plugin to track emails that are sent out from your WordPress site.
I hope this helps! If you have any questions, could you please let me know?
Thanks!
