In reply to: [Twenty Twenty-Three] Changing background color across columnsI have no idea what was going on but it’s not anymore. No issues. So strange. I just recreated the columns and it worked. Thank you. ??

Thanks again Felipe,
I can confirm that there’s no other CSS. This was a fresh install.
That’s so weird, but how it worked for you exactly how I was expecting.
Anyway, I’m going to go with a sidebar menu layout instead. The idea is to keep the logo in view at all times without being, well, obnoxious about it ?? So the logo is in the sticky header but I don’t want the entire header to be as big as the logo.
Just an FYI: I had a similar problem yesterday when I was creating padding around columns. The content looked correct in the editor but not when previewed or going to the page. I’ve found that if I exit the editor, go back to the dashboard, then go back into the page or template then the issue clears up. Strange and a little disconcerting given I’m new to this lovely block theme concept.
Thanks for helping. If I ever figure out what the issue was, I’ll pop the solution in here somewhere.

Hi Felipe, Thanks for your help.
Yes, I went to the global Styles, then selected the kebab and then Additional CSS (see image below). From inside the Template Editor it looks like this with the logo overlapping the image below:
But if I then hit preview or go to the Home page (or any page) the overlap goes away.
As you can see, I don’t have a lot of other code for it to compete with, just the fact that it’s a sticky header so the background color of the header is white.
I just started creating this site, so there’s really nothing much going on. There’s this header that I made sticky with an overlapping logo. The header background is white so when I scroll you can still see the menu. The navigation bar shows what page your on, there’s this test image of the earth and then there are a few empty pages so I could create the nave menu. That’s it I think.
Any ideas?
First of all, Thanks so much, @webzunft , for creating this wonderful plugin ??
I don’t have it working to my satisfaction though. Like @sandraishkanes it doesn’t disable at smaller resolutions. But for me, it never does and it looks like her site is still having this issue.
If I shrink the browser down until the sidebar and main page show up inline instead of side by side, then when I scroll the sidebar shows up underneath the main body of the page. You can see it as you scroll between the blocks. I noticed that sandraishkanes site is doing the same thing when you shrink the browser only her sidebar shows up on top.
I’d give you my URL but I’m on a dev site that’s not available to the net.
I’ve tried adding various sizes to Minimum Screen Width. It disables at something huge like 2000px but nothing smaller. Not even 1200.
I also tried checking ?? improved version. But that had no effect.
I’ve even tried adding a css tag to the main body and adding that as a stop element. My hope was that it might work since the 2 elements become inline when scrolling. Clearly not the way that worked ??
Any suggestions?
Totally solved my spacing issue. Thank you very much. (marking resolved)
.hentry… …Perfect! That is exactly what I was looking for. Thank you so much.
I had to change the google docs link: Here’s the new one.

Thanks for your help! I know it’s really hard without having the site live. I’d just rather have it working locally before putting it out on the web.
So this is the default template. Extra space is on every page (including the Home Page) at the bottom before the footer and before the HR.
so it goes like this….
Some block (text, image, whatever)
three blank lines
HRI used Site Origin to set up the content within each page. There are no bottom margins, or extra padding in any of cells, rows or SO widgets.
I don’t have a snag.gy account— How about this google.doc with a screenshot in it?

NOTE: I added 2 pictures- the first one is just normal. The second one shows all the ::after lines by adding “test” as a comment to ::after.

Thanks Jarret,
I ended up changing how I was doing things. The image is okay to be a bit blurry, but the text needed to be crystal clear no matter the window size. So I removed the text from the jpg, made the image the background of the table and added text in the far cell (where I wanted it).
BTW: Even the cropped version of the image stayed the same size– The cropping lines went around the perimeter of the image- weird. When I opened the image in another window, though, the image was clear- just not in the page.
Hi! No I don’t. I installed “regenerate plugins” to try to clear up the issue, but when it didn’t work I uninstalled the plugin and ran sweep (to try and clean up).
The only plugins I have are Jetpack, Wp-sweep, and WP-Review.
Thanks for trying to help.
Done. Thank you.
The problem turned out to be an additional software firewall that I run. It was blocking httpd.
