What I meant to ask is that if there is any way to upload manually which would also show up in gallery!

I know, now that just one tiny thumbnail is generated for each image, it does not really matter much.

I was just getting concerned as my blog is really image-heavy, around 8 to 10 images per post. And those extra images just makes maintaining backup just messier and heavier. Perhaps the database also get’s heavier as well. Especially when there would be hundred of post accumulated.

I still wish there was an option with every image upload, whether to create thumbnail or not. Because for the ‘hero-image’ you might want it, but for the additional images in a post it is perhaps totally unnecessary.

How/where do you manually add the img src parameter like

Well, I tried that long back.
And it does not work.

I don’t mind uploading the images manually through ftp.
But they are not showing up.

Is this some kind of forbidden topic or what?!!

Am I the only one who is finding it to be an issue?!!

I would really appreciate any suggestion.

It’s a new blog that I am going to start. Those numbers are based on my current non-wordpress site.

I didn’t realize that sub-domain might affect search engine ranking results! then how does CDN does not affect the SEO?

May be I am just overestimating… I might be just fine with the default configuration only. I would think about it when the traffic would actually need it.

Is it possible to move the images (automatically) to a new subdomain/CDN with after some time, when the blog is already up and running?

1. So, my main question is that how much difference does it make for any normal blog?

I am the webmaster and it’s my own blog. It’s a design related blog so it would have 5-10 images on each post and perhaps 3-4 posts per week. I am expecting about 800-1000 visitors per day.

2. If I keep the images in a subdomain is the backup and restore process is going to be exactly the same? 3. or there are few things that I should take care of if I am using subdomains?

4. And lastly, is there any possible downside of using subdomain for the images/media?

I have been trying to do that for 3 weeks and not able to do it ?? as the image is part of CSS not the html/php.
how did you manage to do it?

try editing the image in the theme’s image folder.
make an image with exactly the same size and replace the original header image in the theme directory (use the same file name).

well, that’s a nice idea, but my blog is not about blogging…or wordpress,
and i don’t think anyone would head to my blog would be interested in that kind of information. This place is perhaps the first place people would try to find the answer from. That’s the reason I posted it here.
