• Okay, a few of my websites and sites that I manage for others were hacked from the same ideacoreportal.com. All were on different servers, different accounts, different passwords, etc. One of them was a MediaTemple server.

How exactly can we report or have that company stopped from what they are doing?

The following company also owns these domains that were part of the redirect script: [“edisonsnightclub.com”,”gaindirectory.org”,”ideacoreportal.com”,”karenegren.com”]

I’ve submitted it to the trac. Can someone else try to reproduce this issue by using two WP accounts to the same blog and opening the same edit page from two different browsers?

The “someone is currently editing this post” no longer appears in most cases.

Hey Esmi,
thanks for the quick response. I just created a clean install of WP 3.0 with no plugins or theme edits. I did import a few articles from another install just to have text content.

Attempted to reproduce the problem. And it’s still a problem. I used Chrome and Firefox to log into a Administrator and Author account, respectively. Then I tested vice versa. I also tried a combination of Editor and Administrator with IE and Safari in the mix. It shows the “Someoene else is currently editing this post” maybe once out of the 10 attempts I tested.

I’m 99.99% positive the warning would instantaneously appear with prior versions of WP.

same error here, works on one blog, not on the other.

one activates just fine. the other has same error on line 38 as you do!

any solutions?

You can use the Twitter Connect Plugin
https://www.voiceoftech.com/swhitley/?p=701

And the FaceBook Connect Plugin

hey jvinch,
thanks for suggesting that. that’s one step in the right direction.

i really want to figure out a way so that no users need to be even created in the WP Database. In my opinion if you have a blog with tons of commenters who may or may-not ever come back, why store their info and bulk up the database? all that needs to be done is authorize them for a comment so that their name, email, url, and photo are all included with their comment. nothing more.

@cais

thanks for that tid bit of info, I couldn’t find it on any official blog. I guess people want to keep the fact that there was a major issue and had to fall back quite! ??

anyways thanks! i’ll just wait until they re-implement it in the future!

bump!

Thanks, that was self explanatory. However I do wish WP had some more powerful core parameters to allow customizing the avatars further. I guess I’ll just need to add this function into the theme functions and call two functions to gob done!

Hopefully they’ll add some more features regarding this for WP 2.6. It also might have been nicer if they kept Gravatars as an “official” plugin just like Akismet since both are Automattic products. That way I could just mod the plugins without having to worry about touching my core files.

@whooami,

Yes, that is exactly what I want. But here’s the problem, The function outputs it like this <img src=”https://gravatar.com/avatrar/…”>

I want to echo just the actual url component. So for example I can make a link to the image.

Thank you very much for the solutions. I ended up using 7-zip to GZIP my exported file. It brought the 7.5 MB file down to just 1.5MB. The Beta Word Press was able to import that with no issues what so ever.

I hadn’t used these forums in a while, but I gotta say you are doing an excellent job in resolving issues people have in addition to moderating everything! Thanks for all the help! Keep up the good work!

Hey Otto42,
(Thanks for the extremely fast reply!)
Unfortunately my hosted server has a limit which is much lower than 7.5MB which I would need to successfully re-import that file. Is there any other work around? I noticed that the Word Press allows uploading the exported file to a FTP directory for Movable Type / Type Pad, however not for WXR files. Is there a way I could do that?

@otto, thanks for the information!
@pinoy, i’ll look into finding a plugin.

I’ll probably just edit it locally on my desktop and upload it via SFTP to my server. It was nice to have it built right!

I’ve got the same problem too. I receive an error when trying to delete the comments from the Akismet Moderation Queue. I never had a problem of this sort before. I’m going to downgrade back to the previous version until a fix becomes available.

thanks for all the help, i just searched the web and found more info about it on trac database. and “xknown” was right, it is indeed live writer stuff. I feel there should be an option checkbox to have this appear or not since i doubt too many people actually use live writer. plus it will save bandwidth and resources if the server is asking all your visitors to download this file unnecessarily.
