Considering that you seem to think publishing a blog post is complicated rocket science, as opposed to type + click simplicity – which is exactly why so many people use WordPress – I don’t think it’s possible that you can help me out.

So, um, yeah, those are the exact and only steps required to publish a blog post. You do know that, right?

I wrote a post. I clicked “publish”. The title and the text posted on by blog. Only the title cross-posted to the Tumblr.

I am not using linux, I am on a Mac Powerbook. My ftp is Cyberduck, my host powweb. How do I create and activate an .htaccess file?

WordPress has an error message saying

“error establishing a database connection

This either means that the username and password information in your wp-config.php file is incorrect or we can’t contact the database server at thegoddess.powwebmysql.com. This could mean your host’s database server is down.”

How do I change the password information in the wp-config.php file?

Thanks again for answering, but I can’t do that. I can’t change the file name in the host’s file manager without adding an index page to the site, which I can’t do because I can’t log in to the dashboard. And I can’t change the file name in the host’s ftp because there is no option to alter content, including file names, only to add new content.
