  • I had the same problem with my website. I am running a main site that never gave me trouble – then I started developing three addon sites which were all hosted to the same hosting service – then weird things started to happen. All these sites were set up to run their own wordpress installations. Sometimes images would load and sometimes they wouldn’t but I got by.

Then I developed a fourth site with another wordpress install and this one just about drove me around the bend. Images from my themes wouldn’t load at all. I checked file permissions, reset my cache, used alternate computers, different browsers, even reinstalled wordpress – twice!

Then I read this post – checked my hot linking permissions on my cpanel admin for my webhosting, made appropriate exceptions and hallelujah, it worked. Thanks guys – they should place this bit of information somewhere in the install guide (I don’t know if they do already) as it would save a great many people from total insanity.

I had the same problem this morning – I was going nuts realizing that I had no access to my site admin.

After checking my hosting provider settings, my wordpress installation I finally realized that I have an addon on my Firefox browser called ‘stealther’. When the addon is activated, it prevents my browser from remembering passwords, login info, accepting cookies and maintaining a history. It prevented me from logging onto my wordpress.

I am no wordpress tech (I know enough to run and maintain wordpress). So I hope this helps your situation.
