I did as you suggested and first deactivated all the plugins, that still didn’t work so I activated the default theme and that worked!

So, at least now I know it’s a theme issue, how do I go about resolving it? Any pointers?

Managed to resolve this issue. I went into the database and changed the site_url and that did the trick. Had to also modify the home row to ensure the’Home’ link woudl point to the correct place.
