You can do this from the plugin settings page (Gallery > Public Uploader) by disabling the “Uploads Require Approval” option. (In older versions it’s named “Exclude Uploaded Images”)

In reply to: [NextGEN Public Uploader] [Plugin: NextGEN Public Uploader] Upload errorelimc is correct, this error is due (typically) to the PHP settings upload_max_filesize and post_max_size. You can either increase them via php.ini, or via .htaccess. Depends on your hosting situation.
The plugin settings page requires the capability
manage_options
, if a user cannot do that (reserved typically for editors and and admin, by default) they cannot access the page.I think this was due to a bad install. In all the testing I’ve done it works okay. Give version 1.7 a try and see if it does the trick.
This should be resolved with version 1.7. Post back if that’s not the case.

nerdland is correct, iOS does not allow for websites to access the filesystem.
