Is there anyway to link a user on a blog to a wordpress.com account other than the API key? I’m looking for similar functionality from the plugin on a blog of mine — but the underlying problem is that the other authors are not associated with their wordpress.com accounts.

what exactly do you mean? move the content down or have the sidebar (column and all) start under the header? for the former, yes. for the latter, just find another theme from the viewer.

Well, it looks okay in FF/Mac and Safari/Mac, but I can’t really help you with IE. Did you clear cache in IE?

I don’t think that’s what he was going for. Afaik, there is no plugin for that.

Have you been editing the theme at all? If not, I would suggest uploading the theme again. If you have been, what exactly have you been changing?

i think category-x.php is what you are looking for. but as a side thing you’ll also need a header-1.php which has a different title. include header-1 in category-1 and the normal header for the rest.

what is the content of your sidebar.php file?

What happens if you just use <?php wp_list_cats(); ?> instead?

turn off wysiwyg. also turn off the xhtml fixing.

From the looks of it, you’re missing a few closing tags.
