Found this issue has existed in previous versions. One of the fixes says to re-upload the wp-includes folder.

I tried this and it resolved my issue

EXACT Same problem here, It just started happening after a good year with no issues. Having the same issue in IE and Firefox

Post table was corrupted .. repaired it through myphpadmin and things appear normal now

very odd, if I try to edit the entry using myphpadmin it says…

MySQL returned an empty result set (i.e. zero rows).
SELECT *
FROM indiebus_indiebiz.wp_posts
WHERE wp_posts.ID =1660;

yet it displays the entry when I browse the table .. acting much like the edit screen in wordpress

i found them in the database using myphpadmin .. but I can not delete the post there either or the revisions

found the problem, I installed the WP-Obscure to test it and it seems to be the issue in converting the display of characters.
Everything is good now .. thanks for all the help guys

still trying to get my head around this .. Why does the content look normal in the backedn of WP and even in the database table but not when it is being displayed to the user.

This just recently started to happen … Is there any chance a plugin is conflicting somewhere?

So you’re saying you can do like a global change to the collation in phpmyadmin?

I’ve searched and read and still have no idea how to resolve my problem.
It really doesn’t make any sense since this is not a consistent problem.

Here’s another example

Phone: (704) ?-9995
Fax: (704) 825-1750

should be

Phone: (704) 825-9995
Fax: (704) 825-1750

I have no idea what it does it for the first set of 825 of the phone number but not the next instance of 825

it actually looks the same on the many other WordPress sites I have running

got 2 different collations

utf8_general_ci
latin1_swedish_ci

confused as to why….what should it be?

this was not happening before a recent upgrade

so how did you do it? thought I remembered but can’t figure out on this new isstall

kinda figured it out .. since it has it’s own css I simply added one for images.
