Found this post as I’m looking for ways to do a dual language WP website too. Thank you for the info. I’m checking out the plugin Transposh now.

    Thank you, gldtn.

I’m checking with them now. It seems they’re in the midst of increasing the Max File Size limit in MySQL. Maybe that is the cause of the problem. It’s quite frustrating though coz meantime I can’t get any work done… ??

My sites have been running for quite awhile when suddenly I can’t upload any image and getting the HTTP error message. So it couldn’t be any work on the theme.

It can’t be the plugin either as I have just upload a new website with new WP installation and none plugin activated yet. Yet I still could not upload any image.

And it couldn’t be the theme because even with Twenty Ten 1.2 I still get the same error message.

    Please help.

Esmi, as Tigtog mentioned there, it went away after about 24 hours. So I don’t know what was wrong.

However now it’s happening again. The best part is my theme has an auto-slider and these slider works on specific categories. So missing categories means missing slider… ??

It’s been more than 24 hours now and categories, tags and even my blogroll are still missing. If you search this whole forum, this problem seems to have persist back from 3 years (or maybe longer) ago, with no obvious solution.

I read somewhere that there is error occur in MySQL (whatever that is… pardon me) and that you need to restart the MySQL. How to do that, beats me…

I’m still hoping someone would finally offer a good solution for this.

    I must agree with you.

To my shock, I discovered all my categories disappeared this morning. So naturally I surf all day to get all possible remedy. Tried to follow all suggestions available but to no avail. Reading the forum, I get more & more upset as I realized this problem has dated for many years now. Most has not got any positive response.

Now I have to resign myself and just wait as you suggested, and cross my finger that it will solve by itself in 24-hours.

If it’s any consolation, appreciate your sharing this very much.

p/s Msilushn, may I know did all your missing categories reappeared, or you had to re-post them? Thank you.

I’m having the same problem. When I installed WP, I immediately upgraded to 3.0.1 before starting my two separate blogs a few days ago. Everything was working fine until this morning I discovered all my categories are gone on both blogs. I’m using different themes on each blog.

I tried to deactivate all my plugins but the categories are still missing. Appreciate your help very much!

I have just done mine. It’s quite easy. Just go to your WP dashboard, Plugin, Add New then install the ‘Follow me’ plugin. Then edit the setting with your link.

There are a few other plugins actually. Just choose the one that suits you best…:-)

Thank you very much for the info. However, it seems so complicated… I might take some time to digest the whole procedures.

I thought I just need to click a button at cPanel like when I upgraded to WP2.6.

I have figured it myself… Just go to Manage – Links and tick the links you want to delete & click Delete.

    Thank you very much….

Hello… I’m having this same problem. It was not a problem when I was using WP2.5 for a different site. But with my new site and with WP2.6 the tagline that I typed in did not appear at the browser.

Am I supposed to put this code at Header.php?
    <title><?php bloginfo(‘name’); ?> | <?php bloginfo(‘description’);?></title>

But where exactly in the Header.php code?

    Appreciate your help very much.

Hello… Previously I set my tagline under the Setting, then under General, I just typed the tagline to describe my blog and that will appears on the brower. However, now with WordPress 2.6, only my blog title appear instead of my tagline. I’ve tried to change the tagline many times without any success.

If this can’t be done, will you let me know how do I change my WordPress to 2.5?

    Appreciate your help very much.

Hello. I didn’t have this problem with my first site https://best-mangosteen-juice.com/blog/ using WP2.5. The site description appears fine on the brower.

However with my newly set up site https://savvyhomemaker2u.com/ using WP2.6 the description just wouldn’t appear. Only the site name appeared.

    Can someone help? Thanks.
