In reply to: [File Away] Sub-directories not showing in fileupDoes WordPress rely on info being added to the database for media library additions? Is that how things are indexed for search? I have File Up saving in the Uploads directory, but nothing found in site search. Just need a good way for employees to find these forms. We could have 50 or more pdf’s in a directory with 4 or 5 directories. Wanting an easy way for them to be searched without having to go into every folder.

In reply to: [File Away] Sub-directories not showing in fileupOne more question, is there a place to save my documents that would allow the main site search to pick them up? I’m using WOffice theme.

In reply to: [File Away] Sub-directories not showing in fileupGiving that a try. Does search only work in the current directory? Doesn’t seem to be working recursively down the tree. I’m hoping that an employee can be at the base directory and find a file in a sub-directory via search.

In reply to: [File Away] Sub-directories not showing in fileupUgh, found everything I need to know in this post:
Fileup subdirectory resolutionI think it would be awesome to somehow have the initial dropdown build the entire sub-directory tree on the first click. Pretty sure this will take some training to get employees used to it working this way. Not super great from a non-computer savvy end user standpoint. But good news is that it works!

In reply to: HTTP Error. when uploading imagesWanted to add my solution here. I’m on Windows 2012 running WordPress 4.5.1 on IIS 8/php v7.
I kept getting HTTP ERROR on any media upload over 30mb. After reading article after article on how to modify the php.ini file for all the things described in this thread with nothing working I started to think maybe it could be a Windows limitation.
After a short google on media uploads in IIS 8 I ran across this article Increasing maximum allowed size for uploads on IIS7
Sure enough, mine was set to 30mb. I entered 200000000 for the new value which puts the max file upload size at 200mb to match my post size limit for WordPress. After a quick restart of IIS, WordPress was working just fine with my 80mb file upload. Hope this helps a windows user.
Excellent! Thanks. Assuming we’ll need to wait for the next version for the fix to be put into place?
I’m seeing the same issue.
Yes! That was it…all fixed!

In reply to: [Google Doc Embedder] Embedded URL is not correctWell that is embarrassing ?? Thank you Kevin.

In reply to: [Google Doc Embedder] Embedded URL is not correctYes, it does prompt me to download when I paste it directly in a browser. That is why I know it’s okay. BTW..it’s on an intranet so that’s why it’s not working for you.
But it looks like this when I put it in my post:
[gview file="https://bert.redcanoecu.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/Safety.pps" save="1"]
But when I view the page source it looks like it does in my previous post. ??

In reply to: [Google Doc Embedder] Embedded URL is not correctOkay I used the “standard” viewer and this is the iframe tag it put in my page:
<iframe src="https://docs.google.com/viewer?url=http%3A%2F%2Fbert.redcanoecu.com%2Fwp-content%2Fuploads%2F2011%2F08%2FSafety.pps&hl=en_US&embedded=true" class="gde-frame" style="width:100%; height:500px; border: none;"></iframe>
Still “messed up” URL. Any suggestions? BTW..thank you for checking this support forum and answering so quickly…much appreciated!
