Michael, the Optimizer theme’s standard settings require that the frontpage be set to latest posts and not a static page (I suspected this might be where the glitch is). Therefore, as far as I can tell, without totally installing a new theme, and redesigining the site, I have to leave things this way. Everything inside of the site–the frontpage settings, the reading settings, and the AISEO settings–are properly set to “latest posts,” so everything is set up as it should be.
Arnaud, I’ll take a look at the link that you offered. I’m kind of a low-level intermediate developer, so some of that looks a little beyond me (this website is also for someone else’s business, so I try to be really diligent before installing anything new).
