In the past I was using ‘Twitter Tools’. It has kind of the same base as Twitter Connect as the both work with sub modules for different parts of functionality.
As the Simple Twitter Connect plugin is more designed based upon the use of the Twitter core functionality I would advice this plugin although there are still some features that could be added.
What would you like to compare? Which functionality would you like to use? For each of the functionality tons of plugins are available. When looking at e.g. Twitter @anywhere the plugin directory gives you 4 pages of result. Look at the download stats, last updated, etc. to make up your choice.
