In reply to: [Advanced Editor Tools] Paste From WordI am using the default Twenty Fourteen theme. No, I have not yet tried pasting with all plugins disabled. I have embarrassed myself enough by repeated postings that lose all formatting each time I change one item, though I don’t realize the formatting will be gone until I look in a separate browser. (meaning that preview shows an inaccurate view of what’s really on the site.) I will eventually test to see whether any of the seven plugins I am using may be causing this problem. Right now I’m here to say I don’t see any addressing of this bug, whatever it is, and the 3.9.1 update, and that seems wrong, given the extent to which different users are facing similar problems with pasting. For the record, I am using a Mac/10.9.2, Firefox/29.0, and, of course, WordPress 3.9, Twenty Fourteen theme.

In reply to: Where does Contact Form info go in 2014?I bumped into the answer.

Here’s what I think is going on. Contact Forms are part of the JetPack, which means WordPress.com, so all the documentation is over there. As a first time user of JetPack,I must have missed the memo on this support location.Forum: Installing WordPress
In reply to: 3.0 manual install, Editor & Dashboard problemDG329, you have ended hours of misery. I have searched diligently and tried many fixes, but did not find that techiecorner fix, which is exactly what I required. I can’t help answer your question but can say this is my installation experience. I used the WordPress Automatic Backup plugin to install 3.0. No editor. I downloaded a fresh copy of 3.0 from WordPress and using ftp I re-installed wp-admin and wp-includes. I tried many, many other fixes, but since you are particularly interested in the installation variables, that’s enough on that. I can’t thank you enough for posting this information.

In reply to: 3.0 upgrade now my New Post links all show a blank pageI believe this is the same problem I’m having, posted separately. I have tried everything above except the permalink switch — now have tried that, and still no visual editor for either posts or pages.

In reply to: Fatal error message in WPAUSamboli, That is the kindest and most elegant gift you could possibly give me – half a minute to insert the line of code and hours of frustration are over. Thank you!
I have not been able to use the built-in auto upgrade feature on this site because it has been throwing this error for each of the last few upgrades, but WPAU had continued to function until 2.9.2. One reason I have continued using WPAU in spite of the built-in feature on other sites as well is the ease of downloading the backup of files and db in WPAU. The auto download not only suits my lazy side, but it keeps me from fumbling around in parts of the site where I am absolutely out of my depth and skittish about making mistakes. If there is a security/safety reason for doing the db and files backups manually, though, as the WP built-in upgrade seems to require, I would be happy to know about that and change my ways.
Again, thank you for this perfect piece of advice and help.
