I posted on Joe’s blog about this, and he mentioned SHIFT+ENTER for a linebreak. I thought I might post this here, though, since the knowledge pool is greater, and maybe someone had already hacked up something similar to what I need. Also, this is a more publicly used forum, so it’s more likely that a useful solution will be shared with those who need it.
