Hi David, thanks for your rapid response.

I have the Disable Gutenberg plugin installed – one I failed to disable earlier!

    https://perishablepress.com/disable-gutenberg/

With this disabled I get the options you mentioned above. However, I very much prefer to work without “blocks” as my tired old brain prefers to work with what it has been used to for the umpteen years before they appeared.

If there is no solution or work-around I will have to remember to disable said plugin every time I need to update an event.

    Cheers,
    Phil (aka RottenSod).

    Hi Joe,

I really appreciate your help and thoughts on this.

Unfortunately, I have not been able to get any of your suggestions to work. Maybe my 72 year old brain is more fried than I thought!

I might just relax on this and leave things as they are, maybe even drop the ‘shapes’ from the map – less is more, sort of thing.

    Cheers,
    Phil.

    Hi Joe,

The fix has worked. Thank you.

It might be me/my laptop but it seems a little faster too!

I’ll let you know if I have any further issues.

    Cheers,
    Phil.

*That should be FILE not FILR*
    Duh!

It displays properly in Elementor and vanilla pages. The problem is that I can’t reload the page in Elementor to edit it.

No worries, I’ll live with. Thank you for your time. I’ll mark this as resolved.

    Thanks David,
I will know after my next email goes out tomorrow.
I will pop back if there is still a problem.
    Cheers,

    Hi Joe,

You have indeed fixed the Marker bug. Thank you.

There were only waypoints in the files, no tracks or routes. Just a bunch of places we visited in Scotland over three weeks.

    Best regards,

    Phil.

    Update:

When adding the GPX file with the ‘route’ in it, the line displays in the admin section but disappears after updating the map. The ‘route’ is just a simple one with a few points on it.

Ignore the bit about not being able to display multiple Waymark maps on one page!!

    Cheers,

    Phil.

    Hi Joe,

    Thanks.

I look forward to seeing the search option – if there’s not too much work involved. ??

    Keep up the good work.

    Hi Joe,

Yes, the “Jump to” feature would be ideal.

I’m aware the map adjusts itself when adding stuff, which is brilliant and exactly what I’ve been after. It’s when you’re adding a lot of distant points, in my case villages, to a map and you’re not sure what direction you need to be heading in to place the next marker. That’s when a “jump to” would come into it’s own.

For your information, this is (one of) the maps I’m working on.

    Keep up the good work,

    Hi Joe,

Many thanks for sorting this out. Everything appears to be working now. Even 3.

I realise it must be a nightmare writing stuff like this as everyone has a different combination of themes and plugins. I’m glad we were able to crack this and if anything else crops up I’ll let you know.

Thanks for a great addition to WordPress.

    Kind regards,

    Phil.

    Hi Joe,

I hope you had a great bike ride and apologise for throwing this at you on your return.

    There are now three concerns:

    1. Waymark and Leaflet Map (v 2.15.0) by bozdoz clash.
    2. With Waymark installed I can’t edit images in Elementor.
    3. With Waymark installed I can’t always edit the Featured Image of a Post.

    2. and 3. don’t bother me that much and I can’t easily reproduce 3.

For 1. I have set up three test pages with identical information. I am using “plugin load filter” by enomoto to enable/disable Waymark and/or Leaflet Map in the three pages. None of these pages use Elementor or Gutenberg.

The first page /waymark-test/ enables both plugins. Only the Leaflet map is displayed.

The second page /waymark-test-2/ enables only Waymark. The Waymark map is displayed.

The third page /waymark-test-3/ enables only Leaflet Map. The Leaflet map is displayed.

There are links to each page on each page … if that makes sense?!?

I do have a number of other plugins activated but it doesn’t seem to matter whether they are present or not. On another site I only have 4 active plugins; Disable Gutenberg, Leaflet Map, Plugin Load Filter, and Waymark. The Waymark map will not load.
    https://history.fleckney.online/map-test/

On yet another site I have both Leaflet Map and Waymark installed and Waymark is working on this page: https://www.stuffanddollup.co.uk/blog/information/map-test/

The difference is that there is no Leaflet Map map on the same page!

I tested the history page https://history.fleckney.online/map-test/ again with both plugins enabled but no Leaflet map on the page and Waymark map was displayed.

So, I added yet another test page to the walking site https://walking.fleckney.online/waymark-test-4/ that only has a Waymark map on it but with both plugins enabled. The map does not show! I thought I was getting somewhere!

I hope that we can resolve this issue as I would like to use both Leaflet Map and Waymark on my walking site.

Hopefully, you have enough information and sample pages to work on but please let me know if I can do anything else to help.

By the way, I generally use Firefox but the results are the same in Chrome and Opera.

    Kind regards,

    Phil.

    Hi Joe,

This is now a bit more serious.

On two different sites I am unable to add or modify an image using Elementor when Waymark is active (with all other plugins inactive).

I am, of course, using all the latest versions of everything and the site is running PHP v7.3. The results are the same with PHP versions 7.2 and 7.1. I even tried 5.6 so it’s not a PHP issue.

I will continue to experiment and update you as I go.

    Cheers,

    Phil.

    Hi Joe,

You go off on your bike trip and enjoy yourself.

I’ll set up some pages in the meantime to demo what I’m on about. I have been playing at it all day so that could be why you got a 404 when you looked. If I find a solution during the week I’ll let you know.

The CSS for the other fix works well, thank you.

    Cheers,

    Phil.

@pedger, no I don’t have the answer yet. I thought that someone here would be able to help but obviously not – yet anyway! I’m sure my problem is to do with the set-up of Apache as I have it working ‘out of the box’. I don’t know enough about Apache settings to be able to configure it for my needs and the manual assumes you know what you’re doing!! Everything I’ve tried so far has failed. I am training everyone at work to use Firefox as everything is ok with it but I would like to know how to solve the problem with IE.
