Thanks so much Scott, just looked at your suggested work around with contact form 7 and will probably give it a go.
Just to let you know, I did get in touch with a person at Paypal and they confirmed that in the past, the donate button automatically fed the donor address info in the Transaction Detail page, but evidently there is now a law that they have to give the donor the right to opt out of supplying their address, so that is why the donate button (both generated from Paypal buttons or your plugin) does not automatically feed the donor address to the recipient.

I really wish they did in fact give the donor the option to opt out, instead of the option of opting in as is the case now.

    Cheers,

    Jeff Rogerson

PS – I have to buy something from you, you have been much to generous with your time answering my queries etc for a problem you don’t even own on a free plugin.

Yup, done that in the settings, but for some reason, when the Paypal Product is the donation button, it doesn’t force it, so we are at the mercy of the donor to go ahead and check the box (and most won’t because who wants to share their contact info and get blasted with spam).

Strange, last year we used the donation button a lot (not the plug-in though as we weren’t using a WordPress Site) and it worked flawlessly.

I am attempting to contact Paypal to see if they can explain why it changed, but that is a bit of a frustrating experience in itself.

Thanks for all of your help and taking the time to reply.

Being in Canada, you provided me with a line of code to add to the plug-in so the Country defaulted to Canada and it worked flawless.

You couldn’t provide me with another line of code to default that share address check box to checked could you?

I have set address as a required field, both in your plugin set up and on the button set up in PayPal itself, and in terms of the donation button, receiving the donors address in the transaction details is contingent on the donor checking the share address permission on the data entry form.

We have used the PayPal “Donate” button for a few years (not your plugin), and it has worked flawless automatically collecting the address information, but when I tested it yesterday, it behaved the same as your plugin, not supplying address info unless donor checked share address box in the data form. So I’m inclined to believe PayPal has changed the behaviour of the data form itself.

Is there any way the checkbox for share address can be defaulted to checked?
