The problem seems to have fixed itself.

I just came back to the page and pressed refresh and the photos have appeared as I want them.

The shortcode I’ve just used is as follows:

[fts_instagram instagram_id=11352619023 pics_count=6 type=user profile_wrap=no super_gallery=yes columns=3 force_columns=no space_between_photos=3px icon_size=100px hide_date_likes_comments=no]

This time it showed the “follow us” button but still no images.

Also, I’m realising that the “size of instagram icon” value which I can change in the options might not actually change the size of the photos as I had hoped but might refer to the size of the “follow us” button.

Is there a way to change the size of the actual photos displayed? If not then the classic gallery style will do fine for us for the time being.

Thanks for the reply Joy, I might be in over my head here cause I don’t completely understand what you’re meaning… I guess what I’m trying to edit is that instead of querying for posts I want the parent category to query for a list of it’s own sub categories. Do you think there’s a way to do that by editing a css or a php file?

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly.

The demo page you gave me a link to seems to be having problems and is only showing up in straight html.

#1 that sounds like exactly what I would like: a large slider offering say 3 featured articles (by default the three latest articles). There is currently no slider visible. What should I change to make it appear? make one of my posts a sticky?

#2 you can ignore that question, I somehow managed to zoom in on my web browser and was therefore getting the mobile view.

yeah, i guess I just need to play around with each theme a bit.

Thing is though, I’m changing my theme so I already have content including things like featured image so I’m not sure what’s going on.

Another thing, (or should i ask this as a separate topic?) How can I play around with a theme and make major changes to my website while keeping the current version live. The only way I seem to be able to find to start really adapting my website to a new theme is to publish it which of course is an issue if I get visitors during this time.

Sorry to be boring and always come back with the same problem, but i have added a picture to one of my galleries and it’s got the same black line as the others had before! I’ve tried posting the code you gave me a second time since when I removed it I got the same black strip on the bottom of the photos that didn’t have one and an extra one on the bottom of the new photo i’m having the problem with… I’m gonna play around see if I can work it out but if you’ve got some more magic code for me that would be great.

and the issue is that the third picture (the new one I just added) has got a black strip along the bottom and actually its also got a thin black strip along it’s left hand side.

Great sorted.

i was concerned that enabling that option was going to affect the other galleries I have where I don’t want them to redirect to webpages but it seems to be fine.

Sorry i didn’t reply earlier, that bit of code did the job perfect.

Got more of the same however, as I have added a photo gallery widgets to celebrate our partners and the same black stripe appears in the thumbnail.

See the bottom of any page of my website to see what I’m talking about.

And a bonus questions, which is being asked all over the web:

How can I make each image in the gallery into a link to the apropriate website?

I kind of suspected that would be the case. I do have a child theme which I have done some edits to, mostly following instructions. I just downloaded your content.php file it doesn’t look too scary! would I basically just add a “div” “/div” and work out what to put in there? Is this the only file I would need to adapt? what about if I wanted to make it responsive? Thanks for getting me on the right path, I’ll let you know how i get on.

Yeah fair enough.

I’ve actually found a way, which is simply to create my archive pages as i want them to look manually. That’ll work fine for now til I get better at coding.
