So I have checked my instagram account’s Authorized App options and it says that I haven’t authorized any apps to access my Instagram.

I then regenerated shortcode and cleared all caches.

Unfortunately it still appear show on my site.

Is there anything else I can try?

ok, so how do I know if something is a template or not? I guess as I am following instructions most of the time, I can generally assume that if someone refers to “my child themes xx.php file” it’s a template that I can get from the parent theme?

No I was not aware of that. Is that the case even if I am working from a child theme?

I’ve followed instructions on wpbeginner.com to set up a child theme and have been updating my child theme’s stylesheet which is wholey made up of my own changes, the rest of the child rules presumably coming from the parent theme’s stylesheet.

For other changes I have wanted to make to my theme, I have been advised to copy this or that php file wholesale to my child theme and make the suggested changes there. In this case there is no query to go and find the original file for most things as everything is there in the copied file.
Now, this has seemed to be a strange way of going about it, since I imagine this file to have the potential to conflict with potential upgrades to new versions of the theme?

This is all pretty new to me and I certainly don’t know anything about php but it’s fun learning and trying things out and by following certain instructions I seem to be getting some of the results I’m looking for.

Wow, ok that’s cool.

I’ve been using inspector to find out what different elements CSS class is so I can edit in wordpress theme editor but that sounds like a much quicker way of trying things out. There’s usually a few different classes I need to try out depending on where exactly I point the curser, so it’ll be good to have this shortcut way of trying them out!

This plugin doesn’t appear to offer share buttons at all. It does have an option that looks similar but I don’t know what it does as no new buttons appeared.

No worries though I’ve found another much simpler app that just gives me share buttons.

I have tried changing the theme to several different options, but the share icons still show up below my static pages.

ok. that explains that.

so if I use font-size, can I assign it a percentage value so it is responsive to different screen sizes? I’m afraid of just using a pixel value, cause logic seems to dictate that a static value will make it look great on some screens and too small or too big on others.

Having said that I tried that elsewhere on the site as a test and the 50px icon looked good and big on my 17″ screen and looked fine on the little iphone as well. Could you help me understand that?
