I just came across your post here because I am looking to do the EXACT same thing. I guess no one has replied with a solution, so I was wondering if you found something that works for you. It sounds like I’ve been checking out the same possibly solutions as you had, but I haven’t tried them out yet. Have you?

I’ve got the same problem. I’ve tried Lightbox, Slimbox, Slimbox Reloaded, Shutter Reloaded, and Lightview. None of them work. I’m guessing it’s a conflict with Events Calendar’s use of Thickbox, but I really don’t know.

Any ideas on how to fix this or work around it?
