I don’t know if you ask the Yoast team or other people opinions.

But personally, I am still keeping track closely with their development. After seeing this issue: https://github.com/Yoast/wordpress-seo/issues/15051, I decided to not touch Yoast for now. Since my site has over 500k posts, I doubt it will work well in my situation.

Even with the 13.5 version, the sitemap is also useless. Because it crash server every times bot crawl the sitemap. It seem Yoast plugin is not ready for large sites..

After reading all the problems with Yoast plugin, I am genuinely hesitated to upgrade to the latest version. My site massively has 600k posts, which will take forever to recover if something goes wrong.

Were the plugin tested with large site?

Also, increasing the number of items per sitemap doesn’t help. Because with 1000 url, it takes 5-7 mins to generate the sub-sitemap, so that means there will be 50x times longer to generate 1 sub-sitemap with 50000 urls.

I am testing. It’s already 1 hour from the start, but mysql is still running for 1 sub-sitemap. If the process takes more than 1 hour, I don’t think this is a good way to generate the sitemap.

Thanks for your reply. I knew about this solution, also tried already. However, there are some problems with this solution:

1- My sitemap has over 500ish sup-sitemaps.
2- Each sub-sitemaps has 1000 urls.
3- It takes 5-7 minutes to finish loading 1 sub-sitemap. Practically, if I preload all those sub-sitemaps, it will take at least 2 days.
4- Loading each sub-sitemap raises extensively cpu usage from mysql (even though my vps is quite strong).

Therefore, loading 500ish sub-sitemaps everyday or twice a day for caching purpose is not viable.

If you have any other advices, please let me know.

Hi, I did clear cache, even login in incognito mode. The error is still there.

It seems these are not preferred way for me. Since I have hundreds of posts & pages. Also tried those options, but the only thing distinguishes them are full page (no widget) and page with widgets.

Is there any other ways around?

I have exactly the same behavior as yours. Normally, there will be thumbnail with the word gif. When apply all the stateless options as I mentioned, the thumbnail is gone.

This is so weird. These are devices that I tested
– Ip 4-7 (safari, chrome, firefox, opera)
– Ipad (same)
– Android emulator (chrome, firefox)

None of that can see the thumbnails

Do you have any ideas?

I tested on Safari (iphone7/ipad).

And yes, for small mp4 vids, my web show them into gif type (no conversion).

– Stateless
– Rewrite URL: enable
– Delete GCS file: enable
– Organization: enable
– Cache-busting: enable

I only run the option:
– Regenerate all stateless images and synchronize Google Storage with local server

Compatibility:
– Dynamic Image Support: enable
– Advanced Custom Fields Image Crop Addon: enable

Before activate the plugin with these options, the gifs thumbnail from posts still appear on mobile. After these steps, the gifs thumbnail don’t appear anymore.
