Hi there, thanks for this. I checked with my host, and was told that it’s set to 1 Mbps. Apparently, it can’t be raised unless I move to VPS hosting. The plugin was always working fine for me before, though. Would you expect 1 Mbps to be enough normally or not?

In reply to: [Yoast SEO] Removing ngg_tags from sitemapHi again. I clicked that button you mentioned and you’re right, Yoast isn’t listing the ngg URLs. Which makes me wonder what information Google is getting, and what else it might have got wrong, and (more worryingly) it might be missing. Have you any idea how to get the right information to Google? I tried posting on the Webmaster Tools forum, but nobody replied.

In reply to: [Yoast SEO] Removing ngg_tags from sitemapHi Jeroen, thank you SO much for responding, I’d all but given up hope! I still get the mails from Webmaster Tools about hundreds of links going nowhere in my sitemap, and my hosts (Hostpapa) say they can’t help at all.
I went where you said, and unfortunately don’t see the option to remove the ngg_tag. All I have is:
“Please check the appropriate box below if there’s a taxonomy that you do NOT want to include in your sitemap:
Categories (category)
Tags (post_tag)
Format (post_format)
Categories (pcategory)
Categories (MailPress_mailing_list)
Tags (ptag)”Is there any way to do this via coding, perhaps?
Thanks again!
The interesting thing – at least for me because I have Alex’s search plugin installed too – is that the moment you type the keyword into the search box that shows on that page, the images with that ngg tag show up. I would have thought that the code required to take the user straight to the images should be fairly simple. However, I have no clue about how to code and rely on what people tell me to do via this forum! So… if anyone knows what code might do the trick, I’d be thrilled!
Update: I disabled the interactive share buttons as it was just too ugly to leave them like that. But I’d like to be able to put them back, so am very hopeful that someone will have some bright ideas ??
Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: TwentyTen: Strange happenings at the top of pages/postsUpdate: I think this has something to do with my Share and Follow plugin. My pages and posts now look tidy, as I’ve moved the interactive share buttons to the bottom. But this is not where I want them, as they are less likely to be noticed here. I want things to be as they were before. Sadly, nobody ever responds on the Share and Follow forum. Any thoughts on how I could tweek my theme to work properly will therefore be hugely appreciated! I assume this is something specific to me, as others do not seem to be reporting such a problem since the last update.
Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Image insertion causing post to go blankI’m delighted to say that I’ve FINALLY fixed this problem. I found the way after WordPress suddenly started displaying an ‘About’ box at the bottom of my photo essays. I searched to find a way to remove this, and found that the problem related to a page in my custom theme (based on TwentyTen) that must have been badly re-written from the original loop-single.php. I deleted the code that started “If a user has filled out their description, show a bio on their entries”, and the “About’ box stopped appearing. I then tried to put lots more photos into an essay than I’ve been doing till now, and the page didn’t go blank! I suppose that this isn’t a problem that others will experience, as it was caused by a slip up by my site designer. Still, I’m reporting here for the sake of closure! Thanks to all who tried to help.
Still nothing on this, unfortunately. It’s a shame, as I see that people come to my site every day after following these sorts of links from Google and each time encounter ‘not found’. If they then enter the term into the search box that WordPress gives (“perhaps searching will help”, my images with those NGG tags show up. But I don’t reckon many people go that extra mile after being confronted only with ‘not found’ and an otherwise blank page.

In reply to: [Plugin: Redirection] "This web page has a redirect loop"Thanks a million, this did the trick for me as well (after considerable pulling out of hair)!
Hi Ron,
No, unfortunately I didn’t. I hope someone will see this and help!
Another issue I have with this plugin is that nobody (including me) can select the featured photo to be shown on Facebook. The only option available is my logo.

Ok, forget my reply. They already responded:
Hello,
Storage of backup files is prohibited as per our Terms of Service.
“o) Data Warehousing: The servers provided by HostPapa are intended for web services use only. We recommend that you download and remove backup files in 24 hours after generating them.
Hi,
I got 2.0.2 now, thanks.
Meanwhile, Hostpapa – who I used to love – are driving me nuts. Here’s their latest e-mail to me:

HostPapa Systems Administration DepartmentOf course, this is automated. But do you think that if I changed something in the path so that it reads ‘site-backup’, it would be more acceptable to them?

This is great news, many thanks! (Oddly, 2.0.2 is still not showing as an available upgrade for me.)
Thanks Jay. I often do have multiple backend tabs open, but had not even looked at Snapshot (except to upgrade) today. Moreover, I had automation off. So it seems odd. Still waiting for 2.0.2 to appear… . If my hosts are worried about resources, why do they promise unlimited bandwidth? (Assuming, from my limited knowledge, that this is the same thing.)
