In reply to: Realtime Milestone update counterHello. I’ve done a little Googling and found what I think you’re looking for. Have a look at the article Post Like System for WordPress. There’s also a Thank You Counter Button WordPress Plugin that might also do the trick.

In reply to: Updating to WordPress 4.7.1Hello,
Things like this can sometimes seem daunting but unless theres a plugin or something in your theme that’s incompatible with the latest version, it should be safe to update WordPress. To be safe though, make sure you have a backup of your site. It’s also a good idea to use a child theme if you aren’t already.
There are various ways to make a backup and most hosting companies do some form of daily backup. If you have access to the hosting control panel you’ll usually find a backup wizard there too. Check with your host and ask them to make the backup if you’re not sure how to.

Rob

In reply to: How to email Support?I’ve replied to your previous post. Please check that out and respond there so that other folk can follow your thread.
WordPress doesn’t offer support through these forums for self-hosted sites. What you’ll find here are folk like myself who volunteer their time and skills to help others who are struggling with various WordPress issues. If you require payed help, please try https://jobs.wordpress.net/ or https://jetpack.pro/ and do not accept any hire offers posted to these forums.
It would appear that your site is hosted by a company called CyrusOne. You could give them a call how help accessing your site via ftp or whatever control panel they provide.
Hope that helps,
Rob

In reply to: Pinterest confirm website faultHello,
To replace the custom_functions.php file, you can use ftp or whatever control panel your hosting provider offers. In many cases this is called cPanel.
To get a fresh copy, you’ll need to either find or download a copy of the theme, unzip it and then find the file in a subfolder called custom. If the theme has been modified by a 3rd party, you’ll have to approach them for a fresh copy if you can’t find your original copy.
Hope that makes sense.
Cheers,
Rob

In reply to: Upgrading to WordPress 4.7 crashed my siteHello,
Have you tried switching to another theme or checking for theme updates? If you switch to a theme like Twenty Sixteen and the problem persists, maybe try reinstalling WordPress. You can do this by clicking the “Re-install Now” button under Updates on the Dashboard.
Just make sure you have a backup your site before you start tinkering.

In reply to: cannot access DashboardHi,
Take a deep breath. It’s a common scenario and many people before you have come right with this one.
Have a look at this article: WordPress – Changing the Site URL and Home Settings. It give detailed instructions that cover making these changes via a number of options.
If you don’t come right, let me know if you’ve actually moved the WordPress files or if you just changed the address via the dashboard (Settings > General).

Rob

In reply to: Chrome doesn’t display Admin panel thumbnails. If you still haven’t come right, try a browser like Opera or Vivaldi. They are both based on Chrome so if the problem doesn’t persist on one of these browsers then it could just be a problem with your Chrome installation.
There was a similar problem which was tracked down to a typo in the wp-config.php file so it could also be that.

Rob

In reply to: Aw, Snap!Hello,
I think your first step should be to disable all your plugins and then reactivate them one at a time. If the problem still occurs after disabling the plugins try changing to a default theme like Twenty Sixteen to see if it’s a theme issue.
Cheers,
Rob
