Problem resolved, for future people having this problem:

In de .htaccess-file in the upload-folder delete the

<Files *.php>
deny from all
</Files>

That fixed it for me!

I have the same issue, can’t find a solution anywhere, did you find one yet?

Found out something new, it does show up in the image editor, but nowhere else.

I apologize, I didn’t know it was upgraded, I thought 3.7.1 was the most recent, I’m afraid I’m still experiencing the same issues though.

Even though I’m now using 3.8.

I’m using wordpress 3.7.1 btw and have disabled all plug-ins, plus tried a reinstall

it didn’t work sadly, I ended up having to switch themes because of it
