In reply to: [Meta Tag Manager] Canonical links?ok – thanks!
marking solved
Thanks for your prompt response. I had changed to the settings suggested by AIOWPS on a few of the sites I manage and then started to wonder about it – hence my question here. Decided to change all sites back to 750 and went I went to each site I saw that they had already been changed back so I guess my host requires it.
OK – we’re good. Thanks for your help!

In reply to: [XCloner Google Drive] Not able to backup to subdirectory in Google Drive@fidoboy Your backup file is larger than mine was and I had to raise my limit to 256M but looks like yours needs more. Yes – it could be a problem with the plugin that it requires so much memory – I don’t know how those things work and what the standards are but why don’t you try raising it more (I think with most hosts you can go to 1024 max) to see it that solves it and then hopefully one of the developers will chime in to see if there’s anything they need to do with the plug-in. Since I had marked this particular issue as resolved maybe you should start a new thread because otherwise they may not see it.

In reply to: [XCloner Google Drive] Not able to backup to subdirectory in Google Drive@fidoboy – I believe that’s a problem on your end. You will need to increase the PHP Memory limit. The way to do so varies from system to system so check with your system administrator. I was able to do mine via the .htaccess file but I know that does not always work.
I was thinking this same thing. Somewhere else I saw “best practices” for using xcloner differential backups and it suggested a monthly full backup and daily or weekly differential backups but it appears that currently the plugin forces you to create a new diff backup schedule after each monthly. Would be very nice if there was a way to have it pick up automatically from the the most recent monthly.

In reply to: [XCloner Google Drive] Not able to backup to subdirectory in Google DriveExcellent! Yes – that worked. Many thanks.
@bkbai – wish I could up-vote your comment. Well said!
I’m always surprised when I see “reviews” like this. First off, I want to say that I’ve run both the free and the paid version of this plugin and have never noticed any performance hits on my websites. Since it is such a complex plugin I imagine it could be possible to set things up in such a way that would cause errors and problems on the server but that would be an issue with improper configuration and not the plugin itself.
There are excellent help files on the plugin website and the forums there are full of useful information. I’ve always been able to find solutions to problems I’ve had without even making use of the additonal support that is available to paying users.
I think this review is an example of shooting first and asking questions later (or not asking at all).Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [The Events Calendar] Gigpress IntegrationThanks, Barry, for your reply. I think that there was an expectation among many folks using GigPress that the acquisition by Modern Tribe would lead to a full integration with TEC so when I saw news of this plug-in that was the expectation I had – that GigPress events would work just like regular TEC events and be clickable within the calendar. I appreciate you pointing out that I could alter the code to make this work myself but since I have moved on from GigPress and created custom post types to make my own event listings I have no need to go back.
However – since I assume events that GigPress creates are also custom post types and since I use TEC on several of my clients sites (who have different needs than I do) I would be very interested in finding out if I can make a plugin to integrate my own events with TEC. As with GigPress, my own event listings only generate an upcoming event list page but no calendar view. If there is any documentation you can point me to that would help with this I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks,

In reply to: [GigPress] The rock star of concert calendar plugins!Agreed! I finally gave up. They (Modern Tribe) posted a plug-in last year to run Gigpress posts into their calendar app but I never could get it to work properly and never got any more support on it other than “we’ll look into it”.
Since I was already making custom post types with Toolset I set up venues and bands and events and imported as much Gigpress data as I could into those post types and made a page to display upcoming gigs but there’s still no calendar integration which now that I’ve gotten used to it I don’t really care about any more.Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [GigPress] GigPress show updates/new shows not visible externallyMaybe a cache issue? I’ve had weird things with my WordPress installation where a change would not show up even after totally clearing browser cache. Maybe it’s your host? It has not happened to me making a Gigpress post but a couple of times when I made theme alterations.

In reply to: [GigPress] Gigpress stopped being responsiveThe upcoming shows page is not responsive on mine, either. Looks fine on desktop but is truncated to the right on mobile. Can not even scroll to see the entire listing.

In reply to: [GigPress] GigPress show updates/new shows not visible externallyNot having this problem using WP 4.7.3 w/ TwentySeventeen theme.
In Gigpress settings I have “Load jQuery into my theme” checked and “Disable the default GigPress CSS” and “Disable the default GigPress JavaScript” both unchecked.
Checked w/ 2 browsers both logged in and not logged in and newly added gigs show.
