In reply to: [Twenty Ten] menu hover over Home Page problemW.P. Ginfo – Top Man – You were spot on! Thanks!! Issue resolved!!!
I have (last 4 w/sites) created a ‘Custom Menu’ (for a mobile version of the site) but I had not dug down into ‘Navigation Label’, or ‘Navigation Attributes’ in > Menus…
I saw that the Attribute field was showing a blank – so – not knowing what this field was for – I set an attribute as ‘attribute’. When I looked at my site I saw that the spurious hover over behaviour ‘Home’ had changed to ‘Attribute’, so then I went back to delete this, and the site was fine – goodbye to the unwanted hover over ‘Home’.
What I cannot fathom – and probably never will – is – as a seasoned WP + twenty ten template user, is why – for the first time ever – I have seen this spurious hover over behaviour? Is this a bug in twentyten 1.5? Strange indeed. (But another lesson learned)!resolved).

Further – this will give you an idea as to what I am trying to achieve:

In reply to: [WP Find Your Nearest] [Plugin: WP Find Your Nearest] short codeHi Adam – Great work so far.
I followed the pretty clear instructions and set WP Find My nearest in quick time and got my appi key – no problem!
I would also like to see a short code to include the search box in a page, rather than in the widgeted area.
Also, could we have option / drop down boxes to limit search results for categories i.e. pubs / restaurants / gardens / swimming pools ?
And also the option to limit results by distance i.e 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 10/ 15 / 20 miles?
I think these would be great additions to this plugin’s value.
I am not a coder, so hope that I am not asking for the impossible! Would be very pleasedto hear of your future plans to further develop this plugin!

In reply to: White space between Title and Post content…Hi!
I have a similar white space problem with Twenty Ten – specifically the area between the bottom of the menu bar and the first line of page content.
Here is the site that I’m working on

I am pretty much a novice with css, but am learning slowly. Please can someone point me at where in the style sheet this function is controlled and also tell me what needs to be changed?
Many thanks – Rob

In reply to: Scrolling text widget in sidebar browser compatibility problemsWellfound – I was wrestling with a similar problem and saw that there was no widget available that met my needs. I followed up the accusatory ‘bump’ inference. That lead me back to the excellent https://www.dynamicdrive.com – (loads of really good stuff here).
I helped myself to a text ‘fade in and fade out’ javascript code snippet – they do various text scrollers, too. That may well help you.
I have used the standard WordPress text widget. Just dragged it over to the side bad and added the necessary javascript code. I have used this as a text scroller that fades in and out at:
N.B. I am NOT a CODER, but even I can understand it!
The fader script is at:

You can have clickable hyperlinks – email addresses will work.
N.B. In this example I set the border width to 0px so just the text appears.Let us know how you get on!
