In reply to: Cannot Scale Images Larger Since 3.5Sorry I didn’t reply earlier — just saw this. Unfortunately, I’ve not found a way to enlarge a photo in the Image Editor. It’s very odd that WP would have gone to the trouble to get rid of that function in what’s supposed to be an upgrade. Anyway, it looks like there are several ways to do it outside of Word Press, and I’ve been going to resizemypicture.com. (I tried to enter the link so you could just click on it, but it seemed to mess up the directions below.)
For that site, you just upload your image, then at Step 2 choose one of the three pre-set choices (200, 400 or 600px) or click on “More Options” and just enter the specific width you want the image to be, go thru the rest of the steps and save the enlarged image to your computer. It’s more cumbersome than doing it in the Image Editor but at least it’s one way to do it.

In reply to: [All In One Favicon] Version 4.2 displays warning messagesI have the same issue, too.
Me too. I’ve reverted back to the old version.
Tami — or anyone — can you explain how to do that? Thanks!

In reply to: "View Post" Not Opening in New Windowan easy thing to do would simply be to use your right click to open a new window.
Actually, now I see what you mean, Christine. I need to hold my cursor at “View Post” and right-click to open in a new tab or window. That’s fine with me to handle it that way — as long as that option continues to be available, of course.
Thanks for all your help.

In reply to: "View Post" Not Opening in New WindowThanks for the feedback, Christine. When you wrote
I hadn’t noticed this and can’t remember if it ever opened in a new window.
, for me it’s opened in a new window for all the three years I’ve been using WP. Thanks also for including those links, and I can see why you call it a contentious issue. For me, I prefer to have a finished post in the new window for social media purposes — i.e., sharing the post on Facebook, Twitter, Stumbleupon, etc. I’m not using that function to continue editing the post, which some people seem to be doing. I know the preview button opens in a new window, but that’s gone once the post has been published; I know that the “preview changes” button opens in a new window, but that doesn’t show the post’s url, which is part of what I need for some of the sharing I’m doing. Finally I’m not sure what you mean by using the right click to open a new window — are you talking about something I can do that would have the post itself open in a new window? I can’t see where any of the options which come up when I right-click would do that. If you just mean that I can open a new window and copy/paste the url of the post into it, that’s what I have been doing since this came up. Anyway, it seems like what would be a good solution — as mentioned in the discussion linked first — is for the user to be able to set view post to either same window or new window.

In reply to: WP 3.5 update "bugs"when post is published and buton below title “view post” before is opened in new tab and now opening in same window
I have this problem, too, since upgrading both of my blogs to 3.5. I deactivated plug-ins & cleared browser cache manually, but the issue persists. Blogs have different themes, so I don’t it’s those. This happens with both Firefox and IE.

In reply to: Never seen this many problems after an WP upgradeI should add that most of the issues I’ve encountered so far are relatively minor, it’s just that there are so many of them.

In reply to: Keeping Getting WP Update ReminderThanks, Big Bagel, for pointing that out, and I’m sorry it’s taken me a while to reply. I have done updates for themes and plug-ins before, but because I was so distracted by the message about the WP update, I didn’t notice that indeed there were updates for the themes for both my blogs. For one blog, the theme isn’t one I’m using or intended to use, so I just deleted it, and that got rid of the annoying “1” in updates. However, for my other blog, the update was for the theme I use, which is the very popular Mystique. I did the update, but that completely screwed up the look of my blog. A similar thing happened the last time they updated it, about a year ago, and it took me about a month to straighten it all out. The new look didn’t impress me much, anyway,so fortunately I was able to download the old version and get my former “look” back. Of course, now that “1” is there, so I’ll just have to live with it from now on.
Also, though, that “You have the latest version…” message is still there on both blogs, and presumably on everybody’s, and it just seems odd for it to be there.
Anyway, thanks again!

In reply to: [Plugin: Quantcast Quantifier] Not working?Hi James,
I’m hoping you can help me, too. I just found out about/signed up with Quantcast today. I installed your plugin, all of which seemed fine, but I keep getting this error message from Quantcast when I go to scan the site:
Quantcast was unable to find a tag on the URL you entered above. Please make sure the tag is placed on all of the pages of your website exactly as it appears above.
I’m using the Mystique theme, btw. Anyway, I tried it with enabling the code to go in the footer, then disabling that and having it in the header, but neither one shows up in the code when I check it in the Editor section…which explains why Quantcast can’t do the scan.
The code also doesn’t show up when I go to my site and click on “View Page Source.”
I saw your note about excluding the Start & End Tag lines, and I did that as well.
And finally I should mention that whenever I changed the settings, I did save them and saw the “Settings Saved” note.
So at this point I’m flummoxed, and any advice you can provide would be much appreciated!
Thanks,

In reply to: Mystique 2.4.2 — Issue with Column Width [NSFW]@digitalnature That worked! V? mul?umesc foarte mult! Thank you very much!
Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: Mystique 2.4.2 — Issue with Column Width [NSFW]Thanks for that suggestion, but I have too many photos already on the blog at that 768 px size. Also, in my case, when viewers click on the photos I’ve inserted the url of a paysite for them to go to, so the biggest version they can see is the one displayed in the content area.
Also, just want to note that I currently have the blog set at the fluid width, which is allowing me to continue to post larger photos. However, I don’t want to keep it that way for long, as that excess of white space definitely damages the look of the site.
I would be happy to keep the fluid width if there was just a way to adjust everything so that the content and sidebar are both centered in the middle of the screen, i.e., similar to the fixed-width appearance.
Thanks again for trying to help, though! And I look forward to hearing any suggestions from you and anyone else who may have an idea about this.

In reply to: Mystique 2.3.1 – Sidebar issueI’ve been trying to fix this using firefox all along. I did try the reset to default/then change settings thing, but it didn’t work for me. I’m not always seeing that 2nd sidebar message popping up, but I still can’t get it to where I can post images with 768 pixels and have widgets/banners in the sidebar up to 160 pixels — which is what I had before I updated to WP 3.0 and Mystique 2.3.1.
It’s so frustrating. One other odd thing I notice is that, whenever I go to the Mystique settings page, there’s a message at the top saying, “There is a new version of Mystique available. View version 2.3.1 for details.” And yet, as mentioned above, when I go the Themes page, it says I’m using Mystique 2.3.1! I’m guessing this is just glitch of some kind, but perhaps it is part of why I’m having this issue.
In the meantime, as a temporary fix, I’m still using the fluid width, but that really doesn’t look good — way too much white space. If I could put another color in there, it might work, but as far as I can tell I don’t have that option with Mystique.
I’m beginning to wonder if I’m just going to have to go with another theme.

In reply to: Mystique 2.3.1 – Sidebar issueI want to add that I have been using the Fixed setting. I just changed it to the Fluid, which allows the sidebar to be seen fully, but I think Fixed looks better, so I hope something can be done about this. Thanks again.

In reply to: Mystique 2.3.1 – Sidebar issueThanks for writing, digitalnature — it’s a wonderful theme, and I love that new feature that displays all the page numbers. I hadn’t cleared the cache, so I just did it on the two browsers I use — IE8 and Firefox 3.5. Now I’d say the issue is semi-resolved: I can widen the main column enough to fit 768 pix and keep the right sidebar — except that the sidebar is somewhat smaller than before, now cutting off many of the banners in the sidebar. I used to be able to fit images up to 160 pix there; now the max is around 120. It’s also cutting off some of the widgets I have there, like the calendar.
I should also note that I am able to access the settings page only in Firefox; in another thread in this forum, someone has pointed out that the settings page does not currently work with IE.
Sorry I didn’t provide a link to the site in the first place. I hesitated because it’s an adult one — specifically a gay porn blog. So, with that warning, here’s the link to it:

In reply to: Post Images will not center in 3.0I just upgraded to 3.0, too, and I’m not seeing that problem. Have you made sure that in the “Alignment” line, which appears when uploading your photos, that the “Center” button is checked?

In reply to: Adding my Twitter Feed?I have Mystique, too, and had the same WordPress problem. I just went back to the Mystique Twitter widget, deleted “WordPress” and typed in my Twitter username, hit “Save”, closed it and then hit “refresh.” Not sure if the refresh was necessary but I did it anyway. Went to my site and the widget was working fine, showing my last 4 tweets.
