Thanks so much Chuck! It looks like you’re right – I’m getting more consistent results now. So you’re saying that when it doesn’t work – and all the images, etc. being provided are right – it’s a chance that Facebook just isn’t doing things right?

One other thing I have noticed is that if an article has more than one image in it, it generates an og:image for each of them – could that potentially be a problem?
