    Dan,

In the end I had to get my hosting company to fix this. They went through the suggestions made above without success and then told me that they “changed the upload path via the database” which fixed it – although I have no idea what that meant!

I have to agree that this is not at all satisfactory and took a lot of effort from me to resolve.

    Good Luck

    Mike

    Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    Yes, no change.

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

No, can I switch the theme over and back without messing up the pages ?

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

No, I am a basic user and have no idea how to do this.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder and wp-config.php & root .htaccess files – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.

No, i’m sorry but again I don’t know how to do this and would be concerned with the risk of messing the site up.

Ok I see, thanks. I am hosted with Tsohost. All of the images on the website (uptonrc.org.uk) are working fine because these were all loaded into the media library before the upgrade. The problem I have is that I cannot add any new images which you can only see happen from within the dashboard.

I get no errors at all, just a filename where the images in the library should be. I’m not sure what the relevance of the go daddy example above is as I am not using them and do not get server errors ?
