In reply to: [Proxy & VPN Blocker] Block all pages works fine but specific pages doesn’tI’m not sure why that would be given the information I have to go on here. do you use any kind of cache plugins with your WordPress, if so it could be a quirk with that particular caching system.

In reply to: [Proxy & VPN Blocker] Resource HeavyHi dottydirectory,
This is not normal behaviour at all, I run this on multiple WordPress sites on a couple of 2GB VPS and it runs perfectly, it uses less than 140KB. I would assume this is an issue with your particular environment or setup but I am unable to diagnose this any further with the information I have.

In reply to: [Proxy & VPN Blocker] Excellent Plugin, one question thoughHi Maleen,
The Day Restrictor option if decreased below 7 days would make it much more liberal, the higher in days it is set to the stricter it will be.
Basically we have control over how recent the IP was detected as bad in the actions we take related to it. if you set it to the maximum, then it would block IP’s detected as bad up to 60 days ago. I would generally recommend this option is left as default (7 days). I should update the text below this setting to make it clearer.
Thank you.
Rick.

In reply to: [Proxy & VPN Blocker] Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach line 523This would be relating to the page loading before it is able to get all of the data from the proxycheck.io API to generate the graph and tables on this page. I am aware of these issues on this particular page and will be working to hopefully resolve them in the next version.
You may notice that the error is gone if you refresh the page, but it could come back later.
Sorry about this!
Rick.

In reply to: [Proxy & VPN Blocker] Wordfence servers are blockedHi Maleen,
There is no need to whitelist Google (or other search engines) proxycheck.io API safely manages those IP address ranges.
As for ASN or other blacklist/whitelist entries, we follow the same format as the API.
Write the IP’s, IP Ranges or ASN numbers to be blacklisted. An example has been provided below.
12.13.14.15 #Banned user on my website
2001:4860:4860::8888 #Cheater from my Game Server12.13.14.0/24 #Ban evaders IP Range

In reply to: [Proxy & VPN Blocker] Thanks a ton for the pluginHi Maleen, sorry for the delayed reply!
Thank you for your kind words.
If the CDN respects X-Forwarded-For headers than it should be just fine. I believe MaxCDN does respect this.

In reply to: [Proxy & VPN Blocker] HTTP Response CodeHi, The idea was to allow for plugin users to set a specific page in WordPress to be the page that proxy users are redirected to as a ‘kind-of’ error page. I would ideally like that to be a 403 Forbidden but I have not yet been able to find a way to do this within WordPress nicely, while still allowing for customisability.

In reply to: [Proxy & VPN Blocker] IPv6, Hostname and TypeHi, I am sorry for the slow reply, I recently started a new job overseas and I’ve been extremely busy.
The plugin and the proxycheck.io API do support IPv6 but there are as of yet very few IPv6 proxies out there, this will likely increase over the years (I have seen very few IPv6 proxy addresses hit my own sites but they do appear from time to time.
The API key statistics page can only show information provided by the proxycheck.io API, this both goes for point 2 and point 3. Point 3 is API specific, All kinds of proxies/TOR show up as proxy.

In reply to: [Proxy & VPN Blocker] WorthlessHi
It is a shame you decided to give a 1 star review.
Are you using a caching plugin? Block on all pages will not work with this as it is impossible for proxy and VPN blocker to intercept them (there is a specific note warning of this), the caching plugins serve a cached page to everyone and do not allow for Proxy and VPN blocker to check the IP of the visitor as those plugins run ahead of WordPress.

In reply to: [Proxy & VPN Blocker] Block vpn proxyHi itdabhand,
Apologies for the slow response, I am currently traveling!
The plugin will work with all types of VPNs and Proxies detected by proxycheck.io API, this is not something that is plugin specific, so long as proxycheck.io has a record of the “bad” IP Addresses then it will send a positive detection response for the IP we checked and then the plugin can make actions on that.

In reply to: [Proxy & VPN Blocker] Not working with VPNsHi Mitch,
It looks like you have the pages you wanted to block listed within the “Custom Blocked Page” field and not the “Restrict on specific pages” field. The “Custom Blocked Page” field is for you to select a specific page to use as the page shown to people using a Proxy or VPN (or from a restricted country).
There is also a chance that it may not work with W3 Total Cache for this particular use. Unfortunately caching plugins run above wordpress and it’s not possible for me to run certain checks if the visitor is being served a cached page from the caching plugin. There is a workaround that may work in W3 Total Cache and this is called Late initialization. I think this is under Page Cache > Advanced > Late initialization.
You can check the IP’s you think are not detected on the proxycheck.io web interface page https://proxycheck.io/web/

In reply to: [Proxy & VPN Blocker] API KeyI spoke with proxycheck.io and API Keys are automatically delivered within a few seconds. you can re-enter your email and it’ll send it again or you can contact proxycheck support via their support email or live chat.
Unfortunately, Plugin users getting an API key from proxycheck.io is outside of my control otherwise, I created this plugin to support the proxycheck.io API but I don’t work for the company or have any control over API Keys.
I’m sorry I can’t be of more help, myself, regarding this issue.

In reply to: [Proxy & VPN Blocker] API KeyHello, was this sorted in the end?
I’m not an employee of proxycheck.io so all I can suggest is you contact their support or use the support chat when they are online.
I am sorry for the inconvenience you are experiencing.

In reply to: [Proxy & VPN Blocker] Block vpn proxyHi Lucas,
I am currently working on a new update for the plugin, I will look in to making your feature request a reality but I’m not sure if it will make it for this update as I need to research how best to do this. I do like your idea!

In reply to: [Proxy & VPN Blocker] Use this on a non-wordpress website?Hi glitcher32,
This plugin is for WordPress only but proxycheck.io as a service can be used pretty much anywhere, you will probably have to integrate it yourself using provided code examples on proxycheck.io but it depends on what you need it for or what software your site is running on and if you are able to make changes to the code.
I am not able to help you with this (I don’t work for them), but if you look through the proxycheck.io website you may find what you need, or they may be able to give you some guidance if you email them, or talk to them in the live chat when they are online.
